NEW ASSIGNMENTS FOR DR. ABDUL GHAFOOR

The Vice Chancellor, in exercise of the powers vested in him under Section 15(4)(vi) of the UAF Act, 1973 has been pleased to direct Dr. Abdul Ghafoor, Assistant Professor to assist the Vice Chancellor in running the affairs of the Institute of Business Management Sciences, with immediate effect, till further orders.

SITUATION VACANT

1. Applications are invited from interested candidates who are M.Phil (Microbiology) for a post of Research Associate @ Rs. 25,000/- per month in HEC funded research project 6348/Punjab/NRPU/R&D/HEC/2016 titled “Development of recombinant Newcastle disease virus expressing H9 heamagglutinin for protection against pathogenic Newcastle disease and Avian Influenza (H9N2) viruses in chickens” for a period of three years. Applications alongwith CV should reach the office of Dr. M. Shahid Mahmood, Associate Professor Institute of Microbiology within 7 days after the publication of this notice.

2. One position of M.Sc. student @ Rs. 15,000/- per month is available in a research project funded by HEC entitled “Transforming Biomass Ash Residues Into Commercializable Product” with the qualification of B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture in Soil Science with minimum of B grade (CGPA: 3.00). Applications along with relevant documents should reach in the office of the PI, Assistant Prof. Dr. Abdul Wakeel, Institute of Soil and Environmental Sciences, UAF in office hours within 6 days after the publication of this notice.

3. Applications are invited for one MS/M.Phil student at a consolidated pay of Rs. 15,000/- per month under the HEC research project entitled “Assessment of energy crises and their impact on agro-based industries of Pakistan with special reference to textile industries in Punjab”. The applicant must be enrolled as M.Sc. (Hons.) Agri. Extension student. The applicant along with complete bio-data and attested copies of certificates etc. should reach in office of the Dr. Ghazanfar Ali Khan Assistant Professor/PI, Institute of Agri. Ext. and Rural Development, UAF within 7 working days after the publication of this notice.

4. Applications are invited for the recruitment of two posts i.e. one PhD student and one MS/M.Phil student in the subject of biochemistry having at least 3.00 CGPA in his/her last degree in the research project entitled “Synthesis of Biodegradable bioplastics using animal, plant and microbial based raw materials” at consolidated pay of Rs. 25,000/- and 20,000/- respectively. Applications alongiwth all documents should reach in the office of the Prof. Dr. Muhammad Asgher PI/Dean in the office hours within 5 working days after the publication of this notice. 5. Applications on plain paper alongwith attested copies of related documents are re-invited from Pakistani national for the post of one Research Associate in a project titled “Production of insect resistant transplastomic potato lines Against Colorado Potato Beetle and Potato Tuber Moth” funded by PSF under PSF-TUBITAK joint initiative. The applicant should be enrolled in M.Phil or PhD Biotechnology. The selected candidate will be paid @ Rs. 20,000/- and @ Rs. 25,000/- per month fixed respectvely. The applicant should have at least two 1st divisions (one in M.Sc.) and no 3rd division in his/her academic career. Experince in gene cloning and/or plant itssue culture will be preferred. Extension and Rural Development, UAF. The applicant must be enrolled as PhD student in Agri. Extension. The applicants are required to submit their applications within 7 working days after the publication of this notice. The selected candidates has to conduct research within the framework of the project.

7. Applications are invited for hiring one MS/M.Phil/M.Sc. 8. Applications are invited from Pakistani Nationals candidates for hiring visiting faculty on per lecture basis (purely on temporary basis) to teach undergraduates and postgraduates classes of Biochemistry at PARS/Main Campus of UAF. Qualification: M.Phil Biochemistry. Higher qualification and experince will be preferred. INVITATION OF APPLICATIONS FOR THE RESEARCH PRODUCTIVITY AWARD-2017 AND DIRECTORY OF PRODUCTIVE SCIENTISTS OF PAKISTAN-2017

Pakistan Counsil for Science and Technology is pursuing a programme to foster a culture of research and innovation in the country in order to transform Pakistan into a truly knowledge-based economy. Applications are invited for Research Productivity Award for the year 2017 and to update the Directory of Productive Scientits of Pakistan-2017. Scientists/Engineers/Doctors working in public/private sector universities, S&T/R&D organizations and Ministries/Divisions who are engaged in basic and applied research are eligible to apply. Foreign faculty working in Pakistani Institutions for at lwast one year and having published research output with the address of Pakistani Institutions are also eligible to apply for the RPA-2017. REQUIREMENT OF VISITING FACULTY FOR EVENING PROGRAM IN THE DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE

Visiting Faculty is required for evening program in the Department of Computer Science, UAF. Interested candidates having MS (Computer Science) degree with minimum CGPA 3.00 may submit their CV’s alongwith their documents to the Incharge, Department of Computer Sciences, UAF up to Thursday 12, October 2017.

OPTION FOR TRANSFER OF NON-TEACHING EMPLOYEES TO UAF SUB CAMPUS, DEPALPUR (OKARA)

The non-teaching employees discharging their duties at main as well as Sub Campus, Burewala and Toba Tek Singh belonging to vicinity of Depalpur, Okara and desirous to discharge their duties at Sub Campus, Depalpur, are required to submit written option for their transfer. The requisite option should reach through proper channel to the Office of the Registrar (Establishment Section) within a week after the publication of this notice positively. The orders for their transfer will however, be issued after due scrutiny and interview by the Project Director, Sub Campus, Depalpur.

CUSTODY OF SERVICE BOOKS

It is informed that with a view to implement the decision of the Syndicate taken at its meeting held on 28-06-2014 in its true spirit, it is requested that:- (i) All the officials who are drawing salaries form the Univeristy are advised to prepare their duplicate service books. If they have already prepared, the same as well as original be kept ready with them. In case any entry is not available in the original service book, the same may be got updated from the Establishment Section at the earliest before preparation/updating of duplicate service books. (ii) While entry of annual increment for the month of December, 2017 the original as well as duplicate copy of service books will be received by the office. (iii) After entry of increment, the duplicate service books will be returned to the concerned officials by retaining the original service books for record in the Establishment Section. In future, the concerned officials

are responsible to bring their duplicate service books for making entry of every step in their tenure of service as University employee.

NOTIFICATION

The competent authority of the University has allowed the postgraduate students (old) to deposit dues/complete enrolment formalities for Winter Semester, 2017-18 with fine Rs. 5000/- along with normal dues up to 13-10-2017 who could not deposit dues within due date and failed to complete enrolment formalities. However, such students would be themselves responsible for the cnsequences (if any) of late enrolment.

PLACEMENT OF PhD THESIS FOR PEER REVIEW

Mr. Kashif Rashid, Regd. No. 2006-ag-1367, PhD student of the Department of Plant Breeding and Genetics has placed his PhD thesis entitled “Genetics of water deficit tolerance in wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)” for peer review in the Library, Department of Plant Breeding and Genetics from 05-10-2017 for one week. The faculty and the students are invited to peruse the thesis for any correction and imporvement.

PhD THESIS/SYNOPSIS DEFENSE

1. Synopsis defense of Mr. Muhammad Asif Javed Regd. No. 2010-ag-1199, PhD Physics, Department of Physics, entitled “Study of fluidized bed hydrodynamics using mesh-hybrid annular blade distributor” will be held on 30-10-2017 at 03:00 pm in Lecture Room Department of Physics. All interested are invited to attend.

2. The synopsis defense of Mr. Lillah, Regd. No. 2012-ag-1781, PhD student at the National Institute of Food Science & Technology, will be held on 20-10-2017 at 10:00 am in Video Conference Room, National Institute of Food Science & Technology, UAF. The title of his synopsis is “Characterization and assessment of selective wheat varieties of Punjab for their products suitability”. All interested participants are cordially invited.

PENALTY IMPOSED

In exercise of the powers under Regulation 17 a (1) & (5) of the UAF Students (Discipline & Conduct) Regulations, 1978 and on the recommendations of Campus Advisory Committee, DSA hereby impose the penalties upon Mr. Zain-ul-Abidin, Regd. No. 2016-ag-5757 M.Com, 3rd Semester and Miss Fatima Sehrish Gul, Regd. No. 2016-ag-1247 M.Com, 3rd Semester, fined Rs. 1000/- only and placed on probation for the rest of his stay in the University respectively, on having been found guilty of indiscipline and misconduct at the Campus. The fine must be deposited in Account No. 11-9, National Bank of Pakistan, UAF Branch within ten (10) days of the issuance of this notification. The Bank Challan showing payment of fine must be submitted in the office of the DSA within the stipulated period failing which the name of the defaulter will be struck off from the University rolls by the Dean/Director/concerned and he can be restrained for further enrollment. As provided under Regulation 19(3) of the relevant Regulations, the above students, if so desire, may file appeal(s) within fifteen (15) days from the date of announcement of the orders to the PO (Students’ Affairs). They are also eligible to file review appeal(s) against the orders passed on their appeals, if contrary to pray made in the appeals, to the VC within fifteen (15) days from the announcement of the orders on their appeals as provided under Regulation 20 (1) of the relevant Regulations.

Tempered tender or sent by post will not be entertained. 4. No conditional tender or tender without bid security @ 2% of tender cost in shape of deposit at call of any schedule bank and attested copy of registered partnership and power of attorney in case of firm will be entertained. 5. The Executive Engineer, (ECD-M) reserves the right to reject all tenders at any time prior to acceptance. 1. Sixty-Eight unserviceable store articles of the Department of Biochemistry will be sold by public auction on 12-10-2017, Tuesday at 11:00 am in the front of the office of Chairman, Department of Biochemistry interested persons are invited to take part in the bid. The price will be realized at the spot and delivery of auctioned articles will be handed over after obtaining the approval of the competent authority. Under section 236A of Income Tax Ordinance, 2001 Advance Tax @ 10% of gross sale price in case of filer and 15% of the gross sale price in case of non-filer will be collected from the highest bidder and deposited in the Government Treasurery through Tax Challan. Articles can be seen in the Department of Biochemistry during office hours.

2. Sorghum 62 Kanals in Sq. No. 40 and Bajra 56 Kanals in Sq. No. 40 will be sold by open auction on 12-10-2017 at 11:00 am at PARS Farm, UAF, Jhang Road, Faisalabad. The persons, who are interested, may come & bid. One third of the total price will be recovered on the spot and remaining amount will be received after the approval of competent authority. Under Section 236A of Income Tax Ordinance, 2001 Advance Income Tax @ 10% of filer and 15% of non filer the sale price will be collected from successful bidders and deposited into the government treasury through income Tax Challan.
