In Memoriam:
Jim Popp passed away Decem-ber, 5, 2016 at age 76. Jim and his wife, Carolyn established the "Shrine of the Holy Grill" 501(c)charity to raise money for local children's charities.
Wanda “Fluff” Martin passed away February 5, 2017 at age 67. She is the sister of Joyce Strick-land, Andrew Martin, and Donna Martin, and Jeff Strickland’s aunt. She was a long time mem-ber of the Southeastern Chapter.
Chuck Durphy from Boston, NY passed away February 7, 2017. He was a member of the Western New York Chapter.

Jack Whipple reports:
Jack Demmer passed away January 31, 2017. He was the co-
owner of Spitler-Demmer Edsel in Wayne Michigan. Many who
attended the 2007 annual rally in Dearborn will remember that
Mr. Demmer spoke to us about his experiences as an Edsel deal-
ership owner one evening under the large tent in the parking lot.
Springing Forward!
With Spring just around the corner, it’s great to see our column for
national and local chapter news on the front page filled once again
with several “Edsel Events” to attend. As a reminder, announce-
ments for these events can also be found on our club’s website.
Many have been fortunate this year to experience one of the mild-
est winters in decades. If you were one of those lucky souls then
perhaps you were able get that Edsel out of hibernation a bit earlier
this year to make ready for our big Diamond Anniversary Rally in
Michigan this summer. Which leads me to say, in all honesty, I
may not be opposed to a reasonable amount of global warming ... I
actually think it saves energy! I have the heating bills to prove it.
This issue contains the first printing of our annual rally registration
form found on pages 4 & 5. As a reminder, the registration fee is
$25 per family if postmarked by June 1 and $30 thereafter. Page 5
presents several optional tours to local areas of interest that the
committee has planned. Many of these outings have a special
group rate negotiated for our club. Hotel reservation information
for the Holiday Inn Southgate is found on page 1.
Springing forward now to next year and our club’s fiftieth anniver-
sary rally; Jim Turner and Rick Galas have been working on our 50
year membership pin design which will be fashioned in black and
gold for those members celebrating fifty years of club membership.

Part 3: The Edsel Colors and Upholsteries Book for 1960 Article by: Bruce Dean
Above: Fourth page of the book contained illustrations of Ranger four door hardtop
and Villager wagon listing Edsel Color Codes in single and two-tone combinations.
Tabbed fifth page entitled “Body Color Chips” contained paint chips of the fifteen
paint colors available for Edsel in 1960.
In this third of a multipart series we will look at the fourth and fifth pages of the 1960 Edsel
Color and Upholstery Book. On the fourth page illustrations of the Ranger four door hardtop
and the Villager wagon showed both single tone on the upper portion of page and two-tone
on the lower. Due to the thin top design for the 1960 Edsels you have to look real close to
see that the two-tone illustrations have the top colored black. Factory paint codes are listed
with the note that two-tone body and top combinations are reversible and that convertible
tops are available in black and white. The fifth page contained sample paint color chips with
factory paint code letter designations.

traditional green and
white Edsel colors.
These heavy duty plates are made out of
0.32-gauge aluminum,
and are 6" x 11 7/8" in size. The white lettering using the Edsel font,
provides a great retro look. The white edge is also
embossed, adding strength to the plate. Each plate is shrink wrapped to protect it until received by you.

Reservoir Master Cylinder Conversion Looking for a dual reservoir master cylinder with
power booster for brakes drums/drums. Who did
install such part on his 1958 Edsel (I have a Cita-tion)? Which type is most easy to install? Who
knows, where to buy? I have already two separated
brake lines front/rear with dual reservoir mas-ter with booster, but from a Volvo. It works bad,
because of it is made for disk/drum brakes not for

from Alexandra, MN. Sold new in Sept 1957 and was parked
for 30 years. Motor and trans were out but after putting new
ones in and new tires he’s enjoying the car now.
