1. Presently there are two posts of Section Officers vacant in the Office of the Advocate General. One post of

Section Officer is vacant at Kalaburagi unit and One at Dharwad unit.

2. The Government vide its Order No. DPAR 75 SAYNAYNE 2010 dated 19.05.2010 has constituted the concerned

Head of the Department as the authority to promote the officials to Group B posts under the State Civil Services.

Thus, the Advocate General being the Head of the Department of Advocate General, is the competent authority and

is authorised to effect' promotion to the two excising posts of the Section Officers, which is a group B post under the

State Civil Services.

3. Out of 'two vacancies, one vacancy IS allotted to Local cadre as per the Karnataka Public Employment

(Reservation In Appointments for Hyderabad-Karnataka Region) (Organization of Local Cadre, Allotment and

Transfer of Persons) Rules, 2013 and another vacancy is allotted to Residual Parent Cadre. As against the Local

cadre (Hyderabad Karnataka), Sri Shivalingappa, Stenographer working in the Kalaburgi Unit office is eligible to be

promoted as Section Officer and as against the Residual Parent Cadre Sri M. Muniyallappa working as First Division

Assistant in the Head Office is eligible to be promoted as Section Officer.

4. The D.P.C. held on 16.06.2015 and on verification of all the relevant documents i.e. Cadre and Recruitment

Rules, Seniority Rules, 1979 Government Order and the Karnataka Public Employment (Reservation In Appointments

for Hyderabad- Karnataka Region) (Organization of Local Cadre, Allotment and Transfer of Persons) Rules, 2013, the

learned Advocate General have considered and approved the promotions of Sri Shivalingappa and Sri M. Muniyallappa

as Section Officers. Hence, this order.
