Srinivasa Ramanujan Iyengar (22 December 1887 – 26 April 1920) was an Indian mathematician and autodidact who, with almost no formal training in pure mathematics, made extraordinary contributions to mathematical analysis, number theory, infinite series, and continued fractions. Ramanujan initially de-veloped his own mathematical research in isolation; it was quickly recognized by Indian mathematicians. When his skills became apparent to the wider mathematical community centred in Europe at that time, he began a famous partnership with the English mathematician G. H. Hardy. He rediscovered previously known theorems in addition to producing new theorems. During his short life, Ramanujan independently compiled nearly 3,900 results (mostly identities and equations). Nearly all his claims have now been proven correct, although some were already known. He stated results that were both original and highly unconventional, such as the Ramanujan prime and the Ramanujan theta function, and these have inspired a vast amount of further research. The Ramanujan Journal, an international publication, was launched to publish work in all areas of mathematics influenced by his work.

EVENTS CELEBRATION GURU PURNIMA

“The Greatest gift on Planet Earth is the rare event of an enlightened master happening in one’s life. He is the ultimate luxury”.

Guru Purnima is an auspicious day in India that is specially dedicated to one’s gurus. It is tradition-ally celebrated by Hindus, who pay respect and express their gratitude towards their gurus. Guru Purnima is celebrated on the full moon day (Purnima) in the month of Ashadh, which is said to be the auspicious day to devote great sage Maharshi Veda Vyasa. During the earlier days, people used to equate their gurus with god, but this practice has now changed to a great extent. On the day of Guru Purnima, all devotees worship their gurus or gods, and perform a special puja.word ‘guru’ has been derived from Sanskrit wherein ‘gu’ refers to darkness and ‘ru’ refers to the remover of darkness. Gurus enlighten us and help remove darkness from our lives, and thus are important to us. THE auspicious occasion of Guru Poornima was celebrated with great fervor on 30th July 2015.The day started with the ceremonial lighting of lamp along with the invocation by our principal-in-charge Mr. Narendra Singh .This was followed by the singing of Guru stotram and thought of the day re-lated to our revered gurus. The students sang the melodious bhajans at the feet of all revered gurus. A student gave a talk on GuruPoornima . Then the students offered the flowers at the altar of PujyaGu-rudev swami chinmayanandaji. The Pooja room witnessed the singng of bhajans ,chanting of 108 names of Gurudev while perform-ing the PadukaPooja. The teachers and choir students sang the chinmaya aarti .Prasad was distrib-uted to all those who participated in the performance of pooja.
