A message To our members

Wow, do you believe it’s already May. Hi, my name is Doreen Rosales and I’m the new Senior Regent for 2016-2017. I’m still surprised that I was voted to the WOTM Board ( I haven't’ been here that long), but I’m really looking forward to working with everyone for a fabulous year. On April 9 we had the WOTM Board installation and the LOOM installation on the 23rd. I would like to congratulate Russ Cote’ and the rest of the LOOM Officers. On May 1st there’s the Lodge Memorial for our departed brothers and sisters. All WOTM mothers get a free special breakfast on Sunday, May 8th. The Friday night Bingo schedule has changed to every other Friday night starting on May 13th. On May 21st we have the Relay for Life at Geweke Field and our annual Lodge picnic at Lake Minden. I’d like to thank Debbie Phillips and her WOTM Board for doing a spectacular job this past year. I hope to see new faces at the WOTM Tuesday night meetings; let’s get some new members !! And last but not least, our new Lodge Secretary, Peg Ballasch, is doing a top notch job in the Admin Office; stop by and say hi to her. The Moosette of the month is Pat Vasquez. Senior Regent, Doreen Rosales

Hello, brothers and co-workers, I’m your new

Governor, Russ Cote. Thank you to the outgoing

LOOM and WOTM Boards—Job Well Done. Con-

gratulations, to Doreen Rosales, the new Senior

Regent and her Board. I’m looking forward to a

great year working together.

This year starts off quick with the Lodge Memorial

on Saturday, May 1st at 2 p.m. for our departed

brothers and sisters; Mother’s Day breakfast on

Sunday, May 8th; the Lodge picnic on the 21st,

and the Memorial Day BBQ on the 30th

We are always looking for volunteers, so if you

would like to help contact the Office. Also, if you

would like to know what’s going on at the Lodge, I

invite you to attend the Regular Lodge Meetings.

My Super Moose for the month is Ken Jordan.

At the California-Nevada Moose Association Convention in Reno we found out

that the majority of new visitors to the Moose International web site were interested in

finding out what the benefits of being a Moose member are. There are quite a few and

unless you checked them out lately you could be surprised as to how many there are.

Check them out and take advantage of them.

All of you pool sharks, get your "cues" in order and prepare for the upcoming

inter lodge and inter district Pool Tournament coming up this summer. We are prepairing our pool

table so you can practice and be prepared to compete against the other lodges in our area. Although

the Moose International tournament rules say no co-ed teams for the CNMA tournament co-ed teams

will be allowed.

On the home front, have you seen the parking lot lit up with the new brighter than day light?

We are planning on getting a few more to make the parking area even safer for our night time func-

tions.

We’ve got some lost and found items (glasses, jewelry, watches and keys) piling up here.

Please check out the front merchandise case! Also the coat room has some sweaters and jackets too.

Fraternally yours,

Joe Zenkus

We would like to make every child, grand child or great grandchild of a member smile by giving them a gift at the

picnic. Any bike, prize or cash donation will be greatly appreciated. If you donate a bike please let me know, I will post

a sign on the bike recognizing the person/couple the bike was donated from. Look for the sign-up board in Social Quar-

ters. You are also welcome to drop off your gift, bike or cash donation in the LOOM’s office or give them to

Tara Pittman. If you have any questions for the children’s raffle or would like to make a donation please contact

Tara Pittman at 632-1460

Once again we are in need of your help for the adult raffle at the picnic. We are looking for new prizes, gift certificates

or cash donations. Look for a the sign-up board in the lobby. Please bring in your item to the LOOM Office or give it

to Barbara Green. This raffle helps fund our picnic. If you have any questions for the adult raffle or would like to make

a donation please contact Barbara Green at 713-6423.

We greatly appreciate everyone that donates to the picnic.

Your donations helps make our picnic become a great success!

THE MOOSE CALL

This Publications Purpose: The Moose organization no matter how complex it might appear is simply people working to-gether for a common cause: “One For All and All for One”. At Yuba City Lodge No. 1204 our pur-pose—enjoying brotherly love and fraternalism within our present membership while we broaden our defending circle with new broth-ers—is reflected in the accomplishments we complete and impression we give to our com-munity. We are people serving people. The Moose Call is part of our shared effort. By pre-senting your Lodge’s goals, achievements and upcoming social gatherings, it will strive to in-form you, enlighten you and assist you. By do-ing so, this publication will achieve its purpose.

May 13th, and 27th

Come down and play Bingo with us!

The American Cancer Society's "Relay for Life" event is

coming sooner than you think. This years event will take

place on Saturday May 21st from 10 A.M. to Sunday the

22th at 7 A.M. This is a 19 hour walk at the Geweke field/

Gray Avenue School track. It's a lot of fun and our lodges'

team has been very supportive in the past by providing

walkers, fund raisers, camp sight sitters and cheer leaders

for those who walk. I would love to have as many team

members as possible, please let me know if you would like

to participate. I will try to be at the lodge most Wednesday

evenings from about 5:30 to until 7:00 P.M. May 4th is on

my schedule for sure. This will be the perfect opportunity

for you to obtain information or sign up to join the team.

Look for sign-up sheets in the lobby. Please give me a call

at (530) 701-0119 if you have any questions.

Thanks, Julie

Shaw your Relay for Life team captain.
