Thanksgiving is Just a Few Days Away….

You read correctly: Widener is celebrating Thanksgiving for a SECOND time this year! On TUESDAY, MARCH 20, the Office of Alumni Relations and Development asks you to join us in giving thanks for our donors.

Take a minute to visit our Thanksgiving table in the Pit to sign our “thank you” poster for donors and/or to have your picture taken with a “thank you” sign for our donors. To thank you for your participation, we’ll have sweet treats at the table. Also, check out the “Widener Thanksgiving Day: Gratitude for Giving” signs you’ll see around campus throughout the day. These will contain some fun facts about donations to the school. The cafeteria will even be offering Thanksgiving-themed food to help set the mood on campus.

Happy Thanksgiving!

The Widener Harrisburg

Women’s Law Caucus is proud to present a panel discussion on:

Non-Traditional Legal Career Pathways

The panel members will discuss the interesting career paths that led them to their non-traditional legal careers, and provide some insight into how they have become so successful. The discussion will feature a facilitated ques-tion and answer session, followed by questions and answers from the audience, time permitting. At a time when

we all need to be “thinking outside of the box” in approaching our legal careers, you won’t want to miss this excel-lent opportunity to learn from and network with some very talented legal professionals.

Our esteemed panel features:

Kenya Faulkner, Esq., Inspector General of the Commonwealth of Penn-sylvania

Carolyn Thompson, Esq., Court Administrator, Dauphin County Courts

Dianne Nichols, Esq., Chief Counsel, House of Representatives Profes-sional Licensure Committee

Charlene Couch, Esq., Director, Bureau of Equal Employment Opportu-nity, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

Moderator: Karen Durkin, Esq.

This event will be held Wednesday, March 21st from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., in Room L204

FROM THE LEGAL INFORMATION CENTER

As the spring break approaches, it is probably a good time to start thinking about exam-prep. There are a number of resources and tools available to you at the library to help in this effort. First, come to the information desk to see if your professor has placed a “sample” exam on reserve for you to view. A lim-ited number of instructor exams are also available on the library website at: http://law.widener.edu/LawLibrary/Services/login.aspx Call the information desk at 717-541-3933 to get the username and password.

CALI lessons can also be used to review subject-specific areas of law, and fre-quently give practice questions helpful in exam-prep. Also included in the CALI lessons are some pod-casts related to exam-taking and preparation. These lessons can be run on the CALI website at: www.cali.org Call the infor-mation desk to get the username and password. CALI lesson CD’s are also available to run on your computer. Contact Brent Johnson at 717-541-3984 to get your copy of the latest CALI CD.
