This is the web application thatwas created by the EPA and Department of Energy and has grown tobe the accepted system for this type of application. The process willrequire energy data, building characteristics and use attributes to beincluded with the web application. Click here for the complete bill. Once this step is completed, the same database can be used togenerate an Energy Star Rating, which is a pre-requisite for LEED-EBOM. It also presents an opportunity to update the data as theinvoices are received, so the schools can track performance monthly.More information on the web application can be found here. The penalty for non-compliance is $10/day for the first month and$100/day after the first month and will begin June 30, 2013. Keep Students and StaffHealthy This Cold andFlu Season

Your schools depend on healthy teachers and students. Here aresome tips on staying germ-free this season:

Wash your hands often and thoroughly, and dry them with apaper towel. Using towels kills 77% more germs than not.

The common cold accounts for 22 million lost school days peryear nationwide. Teach students to avoid putting their hands intheir mouth or nose. This is the fastest way to spread germs.

Make tissues and hand sanitizer readily available in yourclassroom. Encourage students to use both often throughoutthe day, especially before mealtimes.

Discourage sharing food or drinks.

Install hands-free motion-activated dispensers in restrooms andpublic areas to reduce germs spread when getting papertowels, soap or hand sanitizer.

Clean you classroom often, wiping down all hard surfaces withdisinfectant. Cold and flu viruses can live up to 24 hours onhard surfaces like desks and textbooks and up to 3 hours onskin!

As uncertainty and fear escalated after the collapse of LehmanBrothers in 2008, government agencies stepped in to calm worriedinvestors and re-instill confidence in the roiling financial markets. Aftertwo six-month extensions by the FDIC, the unlimited insuranceprogram for non-interest-bearing transaction accounts was given newlife in 2010 as part of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform andConsumer Protection Act ("Dodd-Frank Act"). Under Section 343 ofthe Dodd-Frank Act, the Transaction Account Guarantee, or TAG, iseffective from December 31, 2010 to December 31, 2012. WhileCongress is currently mulling over whether to extend TAG even furtherinto the future, for now the end of TAG is only several months away.
