ABLE MINISTRIES

During the Galactic Starveyors VBS (June 26th - June 30th) kids will discover that the God who created everything there is—the knowable and the unknowable, the visible and the invisible—wants a relationship with them! It will take a large team of people working together to make Galactic Starveyors a life-changing experience for kids. This summer set aside time to build, teach and love on the children of our church and community.

There are many ways for you to get involved with our Middle School and High School student ministry. From working with students on Wednesday or Sunday evenings, to being a sound tech, driver, special event or snack helper, or even if you prefer working behind the scenes; we need your willingness to come alongside the youth in our church and community.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES If you call Emmanuel your church home, we want to help you find a place to serve. The happiest, healthiest and most effective Christ-followers are those

who serve others and the church. Below are just a few of our current needs. To find a full listing, go to our website and click on “Get Involved”. We want you to serve in an area that best fits your spiritual gifts. If you don’t find a fit, but you

would like to serve, please let us know your interests on your eCard.

We are looking for a few fun people to help with ABLE Ministries. 1. We need several volunteers who are interested in serving as a 1- on-1 partner

with one of our students over the summer. We need volunteers over the summer, so we can give our school year volunteers a break!

2. We also need people that are willing to help with snacks at our ABLE Friends Club events during the school year. ABLE Friends Club is held every other month beginning in September and ending in May (5 times per year). We need 1 or 2 people to plan, prepare and serve snacks at these events.

Emmanuel is a community of people committed to giving Jesus Christ our worship through the careful study of His Word, the application in Our Walk, thus being disciples who share His warmth and do His work to reach our world.

Welcome Center If you are new to Emmanuel, we have a

Welcome Center in two locations. When exiting either location, the Welcome Center will be in the lobby to your left. We have

information about the church, as well as, a small gift for you.

eConnect If you want to know more about ECC, this one-hour

class will help you learn about the ministries of Emmanuel. eConnect is offered the first full weekend of the month: Saturday at

6:30pm in Matthew (134) and Sunday at 11:00am in Room 169.

The Commons You are invited before each service on Sunday

mornings to come to The Commons for coffee and donuts. It’s a

great place to meet new friends and see familiar faces. This room is located to the left when exiting the Worship Center.

We are condensing collections and the actual garage sale to just ONE

WEEK, so we need all the help we can get! Collections will begin Saturday,

June 10th after Saturday night service and will run till Wednesday the 14th.

The sale will be Thursday (15th) from 4pm - 8pm, Friday (16th) from 9am -

4pm and Saturday (17th) 9am - 1pm. Please sign up on your eCard if you

would like to help volunteer any time from the 10th-17th and we'll get you

more information!

EVENTS

Vacation Bible School [Monday - Friday, June 26 - 30, 9:00 am - 11:30 am] Your children are invited to join us in the Galactic Starveyors Clubhouse to see that God is over the moon in love with them! As kid’s focus their telescopes on the marvels painted in the sky by the Creator, they will discover the wonder among all wonders that God wants a personal relationship with them!

To register go to our website and click on “Events”, then on “Vacation Bible School (VBS) 2017”. Early Bird Registration runs through June 4th and is $10 per child or $30 max per household. Regular registration runs from June 5th - 25th

and is $15 per child or $40 max per household.

Camp Michindoh Primary Camp is a 3 day, 2 night camp for 7-9 year olds from July 16th-18th. Junior Camp is for those 9-12 year olds that are ready to experience a full week of camp. These campers will spend 6 days and 5 nights at camp from July 23rd-28th. Brochures are available at the bottom of the large stairwell in Kids’ Walk. Scholarships are available for those in need and can be found on our website or email Pastor Shandra for details at shathaway@eccfw.org.

MISSIONS & OUTREACH

FCA Power Camp [Mon. June 12 - Fri. June 16] We have committed to bringing snacks to feed the kids at FCA Power Camp the week of June 12th -16th. If you would be interested in being a part of a team that would coordinate, procure, and deliver the snacks for the week, we would be grateful for your service! Please sign up on your eCard.

A Hope Center Baby Shower A Hope Center runs not only through generous financial donations, but also through gifts of supplies. At REACH Central you will find a tree with tags listing their various needs. Pick up a tag, purchase the item, and return it to the Event Center anytime between Mother’s & Father’s Day.

Worship Team Auditions [Wed. June 14 or Thurs. June 15, 6:00 - 8:00 pm] Dust off those vocal chords and instruments and sign up for our Worship Team Auditions. Fill out your eCard or sign up at the Event Center for half hour time slots. Chord chart and vocal music are available at the Event Center. ABLE Friends Club [Friday, May 19, 6:00 pm, The Commons]

ABLE students and siblings are invited to our “Gone Fishing!” ABLE Friends Club on Friday, May 19th at 6:00 pm. We will meet in The Commons for games and crafts. Dinner will be served for the ABLE teen and young adult group. Sign up on your eCard if you are interested in joining us!

ABLE Friends Bowling [Saturday, June 3, 10:00 am - noon, Crazy Pinz]

Join us at Crazy Pinz for a Circle of Hope event. All ages, siblings and parents are welcome! The cost is $5.00 which includes 2 games of bowling and shoes. We will be ordering pizza and drinks. Weekly Meeting [Sundays, 6:00 - 7:30 pm, Check in inside Door #3] Join us on this Sunday night for our annual Concert of Prayer. We’ll be led in worship by a live band, pray for one another and the rescue of the lost in our community and around the world, and hear a challenge from Matt Stemen.

56th Street Bridge meetings [Sundays, 11:00 - noon, The Crossing/Cafe] Meetings for students finishing 5th grade and starting middle school begin Sunday, June 4th upstairs in the FLC area in The Crossing / Cafe.

Memory Cafe [Monday, May 15, 3:00 - 5:00 pm, Acts] Memory Cafe is a place where individuals with memory loss and their caregivers can get together in a safe, supportive and engaging environment. It is a time and a place where people can, laugh, cry, find support, share concerns and celebrate without feeling embarrassed or misunderstood.
