Personalised service - Every applicant is interviewed and encouraged to share their ambitions, personality, unique attributes and motivations, enabling them to be matched to a placement that suits their particular strengths.
Safety - All placements are vetted before volunteers are sent. We have strong links with UK Embassies and High Commissions, and are well aware of the various political, social and economic situations in each of our host countries. Our network of dedicated Local Representatives and 24-hour emergency phone line mean that assistance is always available whenever you need it.
WHY US ?
Support - Lattitude Global Volunteering will support you before your departure and throughout your placement as well as after you return home. We help our volunteers through every step, ensuring that they are prepared, happy and ready to gain the most out of their experience.
Placements that assist others - Volunteers become a part of their host community, and are given the privilege of experiencing a new culture from within while doing valuable work that enriches the lives of others.
Value for money - As a charity we aim to keep the costs involved as low as possible without compromising on the quality and safety of your experience. Most placements include food and accommodation and, in some cases, a small amount of weekly pocket money.

Youth Development Charity
International volunteering and gap year placements for under 25s
Lattitude Global Volunteering
Lattitude Global Volunteering is an international youth development charity that has been organising long term volunteer placements abroad since 1972. On our placements volunteers make a difference as part of a sustainable, long term programme benefiting the community they are placed in. Our volunteers spend 3-12 months totally absorbed in their host culture, making friends, working as part of their local community and having the type of life changing experiences a tourist could never have. Volunteers work hard, have fun and benefit immensely. From seeing understanding dawn on a child’s face to supporting medical staff in a Red Cross Hospital, and from working with street children to replanting forests, our wide range of programmes offer a multitude of experiences that will excite, challenge and inspire. Our volunteers choose to make a difference.
ABOUT US WHERE CAN YOU GO ? WHAT CAN YOU DO ?
Project Locations
Lattitude Global Volunteering operates throughout Asia, Africa, The Americas and Oceania. We currently have volunteers from the UK and Ireland in 17 countries worldwide, incorporating both developing and developed nations. As an organisation with nearly 40 years experience in international development we are always looking to open up new programmes should there be enough interest from volunteers. Please see our website for details on our latest placements.Currently young people from the UK and Ireland are volunteering in:
Community
Voluntary community work is one of the most worthwhile activities you can get involved in, whether it is in a developed or a developing country. Throughout the world, there are vast numbers of children and adults who are abandoned, neglected or in poor health, and in need of love, care and affection. Our community programmes encompass several areas including:
• Care• Outreach• Medical• Development
Environment
The need to take better care of our planet is an issue that unites the globe and we have partnered with a variety of dedicated organisations already carrying out valuable work. Volunteers get hands-on experience as they work alongside students, teachers and scientists. Tasks include building, cutting and maintaining trails, replanting and cataloguing species and educating local people about the environment. These projects can be physically demanding, and you could find yourself working as part of a small group. They provide a great opportunity to experience wildlife and the countryside, and to get your hands dirty!
Education
Lattitude Global Volunteering carefully selects the institutions it works with and places volunteers in schools where there is a real teacher shortage and where they can make a real difference. We believe that education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty that so many children suffer from. Our Education Programmes include:
• English Teaching• Teaching• Assisting
Outdoor Education
Outdoor placements are in a number of locations including outward bound centres, Scout/Guide camps and YMCA/YWCA education centres. Lattitude Global Volunteering has established partnerships with a wide variety of camps and outdoor education centres, some of which cater exclusively for community members with disabilities or who are disadvantaged. Volunteers help children learn and develop their outdoor skills, leading activities as diverse as kayaking, rock-climbing and snorkelling.
