None of our programs would be possible without the help of volunteers — LIKE YOU! Are you interested in contribung to — and learning from — the local Lano community? Do you enjoy working with children? Or adults? Do you speak both Spanish and English? Do you have 2-3 hours of spare me each week to volunteer? Would you like to join us in our mission to “champion the development of Lano individuals and families to create a strong, peaceful community”? Volunteering with La Oportunidad is a chance to learn, grow, and contribute; by taking on roles and responsibilies such as: Co-facilitang an aerschool group of children, working alongside one of our experienced bilingual staff members to manage a classroom of 10-15 youth. Partnering with staff to brainstorm and develop weekly lesson plans for your group. Gaining pracce using Spanish and English interchangeably in bilingual mul-cultural sengs. Mentoring young adults through the process of applying for jobs or univer- sies. Working with young children one-on- one or in small groups to develop early reading skills. Refreshing your own arts and cras skills with glue scks, paper mache, watercolors, drawing inside the lines, and laminang machines!
