If a person has a terminal illness such as HIV, InsuranceCompanies does not pay claims.

The legal excuse does not make sense when every single person on earth will die eventually. This is notwithstanding issues such as Palliative Care and Euthanasia. Victor knows many people in Darlinghurst who are particularly affected by this problem.

This homophobic discrimination by Insurance Companies could be successfully challenged and overturned in Court.

Insurance Companies like Oil and Petrol Companies are quick to put their charges for policies to customers up but are very slow to pay out on claims.

Insurance Companies wriggle out of paying people and walk away from a person with a terminal illness.

Discrimination against those with HIV is rampant in the community but none more so than by Insurance Companies.

This situation has been exacerbated by a Court Ruling in New South Wales that sent a man to Jail for giving HIV to a person without that person’s knowledge.

What other illness exists where a court ruling singled out an illness?

When then Premier Barry O’Farrell introduced Early Lock Out Laws, he did so on the weekend of the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade in 2014. This was yet another homophobic attack on the Gay & Lesbian Community.

Barry O’Farrell denied that but when you see how InsuranceCompanies conduct their affairs with respect to people with a Terminal Illness, it is not hard to make this claim and know it to be true.

In many ways the discrimination by Insurance Companies against those living with HIV and Terminal Illnesses is more important than Gay & Lesbian Marriage or Civil Unions. Opposition Leader Luke Foley has had a ‘Road to Damascus’ change of heart to Gay Marriage.

Certainly this issue is more important than Medicinal use of IllicitSubstances.

Both Premier Mike Baird and Opposition Leader Luke Foley need to announce their position on this issue and STOP thediscrimination by Insurance Companies for those with HIV and other Terminal Illnesses.
