MASTHEAD/LOGOVogue has a very specific logo that is carried with them and recognised world wide. The use of the bold black font on the white background helps to emphasis it and also carries the simplistic, classical and fresh tone that vogue represents. It also holds a high importance on the home page as it is the first thing you see.

NAVAGATION BARThe magazine breaks conventions by placing the navigation bar down the left hand side rather than along the top. They also have no pull downs from the hyperlink which shows again the simplicity of the webpage and the brand. The black on white theme follows again onto this but the font is not in bold, which makes it difficult to read. The fonts also very simple and plain which is expected from vogue as they emphasis the fashion by making everything else simple.

SUBSCRIPTIONThe subscription option is there to promote the magazine and also reminds the audience that there is a magazine version available therefore promoting sales of them. Subscribe is also written in red which makes it stand out compared to the black text.

MAIN IMAGESThe images look very high class and represent the high fashion genre of the magazine. You can see that the clothing is not high street and that a designer label is being worn in the images. They also add colour to otherwise bland theme.

TRENDING SECTIONThis shows the social presence of the brand and that they are remaining modern and up to date with the changing themes of fashion and trends of the world.

EXAMPLES OF ARTICLES

These are two examples of pages that are easily accessed from the home pages navigation bar. The first is the ‘fashion show’ section which allows the readers to search designers name and see images of there new ranges and there recent fashion shows. It also has an option to select the season you want to find and from which year which acts as an archive to fashion. There is also an advertisement for a high end designer which shows the type of audience vogue try's to attract (working class/high class women).

The second shows Fashion Trends and the main emphasis on this page is images, where as on the previous page the emphasis was on designer names and the users freedom. The images are very versatile and add am element of colour and fun to the page. The title is emphasised by the overlapping square and caps locked font. The font is important because it is different to the font used on the home page and adds a more intense and modern feel which relates to the images.

MAIN IMAGESThe images on this page are very important and the site uses them to draw readers to the articles, the images are very large and colourful and not only that they link perfectly to the articles. The Prince Harry images show his life which is interesting enough, but very cleverly the colour red is outstanding in 2 of the 3 images which creates a theme and draws people to look at the images closer. The model images are also interesting because the models catch your attentions and they contrast each other because of there own individuality. There makeup also draws you in.

HEADINGS

The headings are also very important because they aid the images in drawing in the readers and promoting the stories. They use devices such as alliteration in ‘Backstage Beauty’ to catch the audiences attention while revealing something about the article. ‘The Big 3-0’ is also a common phrase with the British public which shows who the audience is for the article and also shows that they are keeping up to date with the publics wants/needs.
