A SENSE-IBLE DECISIONTaking Control of LED ControlsTo sense or not to sense, that is the question! The last few years have seen a big shift towards using LED for most new builds, as well as in a lot of retrofits that value reducing their power and cost outputs. The next big shift will be towards the inclusion of sensors, particularly as LED controls become increasingly simple and cost effective. LEDs and sensors will become even more commonplace as consumers quickly learn the benefits.
Here are a few simple tips that can help create a successful installation:
1. KEEP IT SIMPLE! There are a number of nice wireless systems on the market that can do some really cool things, but at the end of the day most people would much prefer smooth and painless installation and operation. The reliability and ease with which onboard, standalone controls are set up and function makes them the obvious choice.
2. UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU REALLY WANT. Motion control can be very useful and save on energy, but keeping the balance between light level changing and not impacting on the work happening below is also important.
3. MAKE USE OF DIMMING so that there is always a small amount of light (especially in workplaces that are operational at night).
Remember that the ECOLight team has plenty of experience to help you get the most from your installation. We have already learnt all the lessons so that you don’t have to!
