Welcome to the DonnaLexa Memorial Art Fair,a juried fair committed to

excellence in fine arts and finecrafts. The Fair will be held alongthe Glacial Drumlin bike trail inthe charming little village of Wales,just south of I-94 on Hwy. 83 andwithin easy driving distance ofMadison, Milwaukee and beyond.Local and regional advertisingwill help attract visitors. Food,beverages, children’s activities andmusic will be available.

Dedicated to our friend andartistic mentor, Donna Lexa.

Although Donna Lexa was killedin a car accident in 1996, sheremains an inspiration to many.Through her Community ArtsCenters Inc. of Waukesha, hercaring and creativity helpeddisabled people communicatethrough art. Her boundlessenthusiasm and can-do attitudeanimated the congregation ofJerusalem Presbyterian Church.Her warmth vitalized her lovingfamily. This Art Fair is one ofmany tributes to an undying spirit.

Donna’s dream is a reality.

Donna gave much of her time toher church, and making it accessibleto all was her dream. That dreamis now a reality which can beseen in the new wing that houses

the lift for the elderly and disabled. The church isjust one block west of the Fair on Main Street. Builtin 1912 by the Welshfarming community,Jerusalem Church isgraced by some of themost beautiful stainedglass in the area.Proceeds from this art fair benefit local area non-profit organizations.

The jury process.

Submit five photos or five slides representative ofyour work for review by qualified jurors. Work willbe evaluated for skill, sensitivity, impact, originalityand design.

Fees and acceptance.

The booth fee for the Donna Lexa Memorial Art Fairis $75. This fee must accompany your application, inaddition to a separate, non-refundable applicationfee of $15. We will not collect any commissionsfrom artists’ sales; all proceeds from artists’ salesbelong to the artists.

All artists’ application fees will be depositedwhen received. Artists not accepted to exhibit willhave their booth fees and slides returned with theirnotification letters by May 15, 2018.

Celebrating our 22nd Anniversary

Application procedure.

1. Fill out the attached application form.

2. Enclose two separate checks: (1) $75 for thebooth fee, and (2) $15 for the application fee,both made payable to Jerusalem PresbyterianChurch. No postdated checks, please. Booth feeswill be refunded for cancellations made on orbefore June 30, 2018.

3. Provide a self-addressed, stamped business sizeenvelope for notification.

4. Enclose five photos or five 2” X 2” slides representative of the work you intend to exhibit.Write your name, medium and the approximatedimensions of your work on the back of eachphoto or the top front of each slide. On slides,indicate the top of the artwork with an arrow.

Photos and slides from accepted artists willbe returned with acceptance letters.

5. Applications must be postmarked no later thanMay 15, 2018 to be accepted for consideration.

Silent auction.

All accepted artists are invited to support the workof Jerusalem Presbyterian Church by donating awork of art to the Donna Lexa Memorial Art Fairsilent auction. Work to be auctioned will beprominently displayed at the Fair, with artists’names and booth locations noted.

Booth space.

Artists are responsible for creating an attractivebooth within a 12’ X 12’ grassy space. Be advisedthat the grassy areas are not always level. Pleaseprovide your own tables, chairs and canopies.Artists may not share booth space except in thecase of artistic collaboration.

Awards.

Artists will be judged on the basis of attractivenessof their booths and on the originality and qualityof their work. Winners selected on the day ofthe Fair will be notified by 3:00 p.m. that day.First prize is $100 and free booth space in ournext Art Fair. Second prize is $75 and free boothspace in our next Art Fair. Third prize is a boothfee refund of $75.

Artists accepted to the Fair will be given a link onthe Fair website if they would like to participate.

Rules.

1. The Donna Lexa Memorial Art Fair is open to allartists 18 years of age and older. Space is limited to100 exhibitors.

2. All exhibited work must be original in conceptand created by the applicant. If collaborative, allnames must be listed. No work made with the use ofcommercial kits, molds, patterns, plans, stencils orpre-fabricated forms may be exhibited. Reproductionsof original artwork must be signed and numbered asto the size of the edition.

3. Each exhibitor’s work will be screened during theFair. If the work does not comply with the rules, ordiffers from the slides submitted, the artist will beasked to leave. Judgement of the jury in this matterwill be final, and no refunds will be given.

4. Booth spaces are not transferable. Any artist whohas not been juried into the Fair, or has not paidthe application and booth fees, will not be allowedto exhibit.

5. All sales will be conducted between the artist andthe buyer. Artists must obtain a State of Wisconsinseller’s permit and collect and pay Wisconsin salestax (5.1%) on all sales made during the Fair. For aseller’s permit, write:

6. Exhibitors must provide their own displays andbring protection in case of rain. There will be norain date and no refunds given in the event of rain.
