All entry forms, tags, left over tags, & entry fees – dropped off at Elk’s Hall Wednesday June 22, between 6 p.m. & 9 p.m., & Thursday June 23, from 8 a.m. to

RULES--- First and Foremost – “BE A GOOD SPORT”

1. All entry forms may be sent or delivered to:Merv & Joan Grunow, Box 243, Czar, AB T0B 0Z0 780-842-7232

2. When your entries are listed they should be in numerical order on these sheets.3. Extra classes cannot be added to your original list once entries close.4. The payment of $5.00 shall constitute eligibility to exhibit in bench exhibits, horticulture, baking,

handicrafts, etc. and shall be paid upon delivery of exhibits to the fair. There will be no charge for juniors to enter. Juniors being up to, and including, 14 years of age as of fair day.

5. JUNIOR CLASSES ARE FREE6. Junior classes are open to both boys and girls – please put child’s age on exhibit card. Children are to

make their own exhibits. Junior age is 14 and under.7. Any age is welcome to enter any classes. Junior entrants may enter categories above their age.8. All entries must have been made by exhibitors.9. Judging will be based on rules stated in the Wainwright Agricultural Society Fair Book.10. If, in the opinion of the judges, there is no exhibit in a class worthy of an award, none will be given

out.11. No person shall be allowed to enter more than one exhibit in any one section of a class.12. More than one member of a family may enter exhibits from the same garden – BUT NOT THE

SAME SECTION.13. Vegetables and fruits are to be shown on paper plates not covered. Baking must be covered in clear

plastic. No staples used. Please use twist ties or zip lock bags.14. All exhibitors must supply their own containers. Flowers must be shown in uncovered glass jars

unless otherwise specified. Due care will be taken to protect exhibits and containers, but the committee cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage,

15. Flowers are to be shown in their own foliage, except in decorative classes where filler or other material may be used for effect.

16. Entries may not be entered again if they have previously been entered in the Wainwright Fair.17. Articles can have been worn , but must be freshly laundered for exhibit18. Exhibitors are responsible for getting their entries to the front door Elks Hall to be placed by

committee.19. Exhibits may be dropped off the evening of Wednesday June 22 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Elks

Hall or between 8:00 and 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 23, 2016.20. Placing of exhibits will be the responsibility of the show committee.21. No exhibits are to be removed before 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 22, 2016.22. ALL EXHIBITS must be removed by 7 p.m. Thursday.23. Unless otherwise claimed - all entries will become the property of the Agricultural Society to be

disposed of later. The Ag Society cannot be held responsible for entries left after 7:00 p.m. on the day of the show.

24. The public/exhibitors will not be allowed in the display area while judging is in process. Doors will be open at 2:00 p.m.

25. Prize money can be picked up after 6:00 p. m. at the hall.

HORTICULTURE If possible, label your entries using the name of the variety as this adds to the educational value of the show. Carrots, beets, onions should have their tops cut off about ½ inch from the crown and must be uniform in size. Rhubarb leaf blades should be trimmed to 1 inch fan shape. Stalk to be left intact as pulled. Please do not cover vegetables. Vegetables to be displayed on paper plates or tray. A certified Alberta Horticultural Assoc. judge will be judging all flowers and vegetables and will be following the guidelines as printed in the Judging Standards Booklet. Entries open to amateur photographer 17 years of age and over. Photo must be taken by exhibitor, but may be printed by a processor. All prints must be mounted on regular white mounting paper or white poster paper cardboard and be identified on the back with exhibitor’s name. No more than ½” border on photos please.
