Dear Walkers,

Welcome to our 3rd 2013 WalkOut Bristol programme.

We have designed an interesting selection of gentle, relaxed and themed walks which we are offering to all people living in and around Bristol who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual or trans.

If you are asking yourself “is this for me?” perhaps we can tempt you to give it a try...

Join us when it suits you - there is no obligation to come on every walk.

Our walks are free - so are good for your pocket as well as your well-being.

It’s an easy way to improving health and learning more about Bristol.

Bring family, carers and/or friends along – or come as you are and prepare to meet new friends.

We look forward to seeing you at one of our walks very soon...

Guidelines for Walks

Getting to the walk on time Please try to get to your walk on time. If you are late – you risk being left behind especially if buses are being used for part of our journey.

If you wish to meet the walk part-way, please let the walk leader know so arrangements can be made for you.

Walks suitability All of our walks are designed to be gentle and we are working to make as many as we can accessible to all – but please check the suitability of a walk before deciding to go on it. Each walk has a key to the type of walk – if there are steps, slopes etc. Each walk will have two walk leaders – one at the front and the other at the back to help and support those with a slower pace.

If you have a particular need – please give your walk leader as much information as is needed for them to be able to support you if necessary.

You are in safe hands... All our walk leaders are fully trained to lead groups of people.

Page 11: Walkout July-Sept 2013

Contacting the Walk Leaders If you have a query about a walk, please ring the WalkOut Co-ordinator - Mike on 07870 389889 who will be pleased to try and answer your query direct or put you in touch with the walk leader for more detailed information.

Your walk leaders are volunteers so may not always be available or in a position to call back immediately.

Keeping in touch If you would like us to keep you emailed with future

events – please email: [email protected]

Or alternatively we can send information by post: WalkOut, LGBT Bristol, Create centre, Smeaton Road, Bristol BS1 6XN
