Tractor Show Is Scheduled
The Minneapolis Moline Collectors will hold their National Winter Convention in the Ollie Liner Center March 2-4. The Texas Plains Two-CylinderClubwill assist as guest hosts. The Two-Cylinder Club annually hosts the Fred Howard Antique Tractor and Equipment Show in March, however this year the two organizations are oormining their shows lor an outstanding presentation.
Activities lor Thursday, March 2, will include tours to the Hale County Farm & Ranch Museum, Hale Center;
Caprock Industries Feedlot, Lockney; Cargill Hybrid Seeds, "'iken; Ranching Heritage Center, Lubbock; and American Colton Growers Denim Mill, Littlelieid.
March 3 will begin will a Cowboy Chuck Wagon Breaklast'at7 a.m. The same tours will be available on Friday.
Saturday, March 4, starting at 10 a.m. the ladies will be treated to hat program 'althe Plainview First Assermly 01 God Church. An auction 01 Minneapolis-Moline ::emswillbeginat9a.m. Abanquet is scheduled Saturday evening at 7 pm. at the First ~ssembly 01 God Church, catered by COUr:lty Line Restaurant, Lubbock.
Field demonstrations will be at 2 p.m. Thursday and a Tractor PuU at noon Friday. The daily tractor parade will be at 4 p.m. There will be door, prizes, and tickets may be purchased on itemS to be given

Pacing the Owlelles in scoring in the area game was Amber Hickman with 21 points. " Also draining the bucket for double figures was Isabel Moralez-13 and Jametra Clark with 12 points. Contributing in the high scoring allair were Mori Applewhite-8, Lindsay Davis-6, Ariel Watson and Cynthia Ceniceros-4 , Michelle Cummings and Melissa Ceniceros-1 point each. The regional quarterfinal contest Tuesday evening was face paced from the opening tipoff. Both squads featured a pressing defense and an outstanding manto-man defense.
Hale Center's only leads in the game were in the early ticks of the
clock. Wall gained a 5-4 advantage at the 4:24 mark of the opening frame and never relinquished the lead.
Wall was able to keep fresh legs onthe court substilutingfive players at a time that took it's toll on Hale Center late in the game. Wall built doubled Hale Center's out put 12-6 to end the first stanza.

She married A .J. Ashburn August 9, 1944 in Stamlord.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Jackson Ashburn 01 Lubbock; a brother, Herbert Meads ol ··Avoca; a grandson, Jared Ashburn 01 Sante Fe, N.M.; and a granddaughter, Allison Ashburn of Lubbock

She was a member 01 First Baptist ChurCh.
On May 9, 1948, she married Melvin Ritchey in Hale Center, He died May 26,1999.
Survivors include a son Gary Ritchey 01 Lubbock; three nieces and two nephews.

CITY OF HALE CENTER, TEXAS NOTICE OF INTENTION TO ISSUE COMBINATION TAX
AND REVENUE CERTIFICATES OF OBLIGATION The City Council of the City of Hale Center, Texas (the "City"),
does hereby give notice of intention to issue City of Hale Center, Texas, Combination Tax and Revenue Certificates of Obligation in one or more series and in the maximum principal amount not to exceed $400,000 (the "Certificates"), for the purpose of paying,ln whole or In part, contractual obligations Incurred or to be incurred to make permanent public improvements in the City and for other public purposes, to wit: street Improvements, sanitary sewer system improvements and waterworks system improvements (the "Project'1, to pay all or a portion of the legal, fiscal, and engineering fees in connection with the Projects, and to pay costs of issuance of the Certificates. The City proposes to provide for the payment of such Certificates from the levy and collection of ad valorem taxes In the City as provided by law, and for a lien on and pledge of water and sewer system revenues received by the City. The City Council proposes to authorize the issuance of such Certificates on March 6,2000, 12:00 noon, at a Special Meeting at the City Hall, City of Hale Center, Texas.
