DYNAMICS & PRECISIONWith its 5-inch slide the PPQ M2 unmistakably shows that it is made for sport shooters, and it has proved itself in many competitions. In addition to the longer sight radius it offers shooters excellent balance and trigger characteristics that are unequalled by any pistol in its class. The new large-caliber WALTHER Q5 Match goes a step further: its sportier slide sets it apart from the standard PPQ M2 5". The grooves at the rear facilitate rapid but safe loading. Recesses at the front save weight and let the slide move forward more quickly.

Q5 MATCHThe Q5 Match is supplied with three interchangeable adapter plates for red-dot sights from Trijicon, Leupold and Docter/Meopta. The neutral adapter plate holds an LPA click sight with elevation and windage adjustments, and the matching LPA front sight additionally has a fiber-optic insert (please note: these components have a different dovetail mount and do not fit the standard PPQ models).

The Q4 shares the best in class PPQ Quick Defense trigger, which provides a smooth 25 N trigger pull and short 2,5 mm reset. Users will be highly impressed by the advantages compared to the compact PPQ M2 4": The handy “SC” is 13 mm shorter, 25 mm lower and 104 g lighter. The subcompact version combines excellent shooting performance and ease of use. The closed outer contours of the slide are a new feature: The extractor and other small moving parts are protected inside, making the subcompact perfect for concealed carry.

The pistol comes with two 10-round magazines (with and without extension), a 15-round magazine plus a grip extension and a PS metal sight. This subcompact pistol is ideal for a wide range of uses, and with its adjustable grip length it can fit any hand size.

When the trigger of the CCP is squeezed and the striker hits the cartridge, the bullet is set in motion. Once it passes the barrel’s gas port, some of the gas generated by the ignited propellant is directed through the port into a gas cylinder. The gas pressure in the cylinder acts against a piston that’s attached to the slide opposing its rearward motion, which effectively lowers felt recoil.

The benefits of SoftCoil Gas Technology extend beyond the softened recoil of the Concealed Carry Pistol. It allowed Walther engineers to specify a recoil spring with decreased tension, resulting in a slide that’s easy to manipulate and a shooter that remains focused and accurately on target.

WALTHERA GERMAN SUCCESS STORY

This book, available in two volumes, was conceived to celebrate the 125-year anniversary of Carl Walther GmbH. This successful German company had its beginnings in the 19th century in the town of Zella St. Blasii (Thuringia), as a gunsmith workshop.

The first book begins with an overview of the events that occurred in the early 1990s, which brought the hand of fate in leading the WALTHER Company to merge with the Umarex Group. The historical portion addresses the origin of the WALTHER family business.

The second volume begins with the 1993 management change and is dedicated to the dynamic advances WALTHER made in the world market. By creating new models and developing innovative sports promotions, WALTHER has firmly positioned its company in the new century.

This is an amazing combination of history, innovation, and photography. If you are a firearms enthusiast or history buff, this book will be a valuable addition to your collection.
