Next Meeting:
Our next meeting will be at 7:45 PM on August 1st at Harbel. The meeting will be an open
forum to discuss your issues and concerns.
Presidents Letter
Hello,
I hope you are all enjoying your summer so far. I know its been rough for a lot of you with the
dercho, heat waves, and power loss but it has been inspiring to see so many in the neighborhoodworking together to get through it. On the neighborhood side of things, I wanted to share some
new developments since our last meeting.
First, the Unity Urban Garden at 4001 Southern Ave approached us about their desire to
construct a meditation garden and walking labyrinth at the rear of the property and we are fullysupporting them in their request. Anyone interested in the garden can check out their blog at
http://www.unityurbangarden.blogspot.com/, e-mail them [email protected] or call240- 593-2530. The garden has individual plots for sale and they are always looking for help in weeding
and maintain the grounds.
Secondly, if you have been visiting the local businesses along Harford Rd you may have noticed
the new Hamilton-Lauraville newspaper called The Connector. Its a great community based
volunteer newspaper and we are happy to say that several of those involved in the project areWaltherson residents. If you havent seen it yet, check it out here:http://www.bmoremainstreet.com/connector/
Hope to see you all at the next meeting.
Thanks
Ronnie Lesperance

Area traffic calming meetings
The neighborhoods along Walther Ave have been meeting with DOT to discuss calming efforts
along the side streets that connect Harford Rd and Belair Rd to Walther Ave. As we have
discussed before there is a proposed change for the Course Ave & Frankford Ave intersection
and the concept is shown below. Additionally, we have become aware of a proposal for a similarchange at the intersection of Frankford Ave & Hamilton Ave.
We have shared feedback already on past traffic calming requests such as Ailsa Ave (both eastand west of Walther), Frankford Ave, Ridgecroft Ave, and Southern Ave. Anyone with further
feedback should [email protected].
