Bushfire UpdateWe are thankful that all our families are safe and we were able to resume normal operations today. The decision to cease operations yesterday
was a precautionary measure which followed ongoing discussions between the DoE and the RFS throughout the past few days. The use of
FACEBOOK, Skoolbag App. and the WPS Website enabled important messages to be communicated within a short period of time.
Remembrance Day 2019On Monday 11th November, we paused and commemorated the Armistice of World War 1 and remembered all Australians who have served in
times of conflict and war. We would especially like to honour those in our local community who have personally served or have family members
who have served – Lest we forget!
WamblesTomorrow we extend a warm welcome to our 2020 Kindergarten students and parents to our first Wambles session. This is the first week of
their 4 week orientation program to prepare the students for school next year.
2020 PlanningOur school is in the process of class formation 2020. This is an extensive process which occurs over time and considers the wide range of
available information. The responsibility for class organisation and class placement resides with the school. Parents wishing to provide
additional information about their child must use the Parent Additional Information Form
(https://wamberal-p.schools.nsw.gov.au/content/dam/doe/sws/schools/w/wamberal-p/localcontent/class_formation_policy2018.pdf)
available on our school website. This form is consistent with the Enrolment Policy and Procedures and clearly outlines the types of information
that are able to be considered in the context of other information. It is anticipated that any information provided is consistent with
conversations and support previously accessed and discussed with the school and staff. Completed forms must be returned on or before Friday
29th November, 2019.

Schools Spectacular Last Wednesday 6 November and Monday 11 November, 17 of our students travelled to Sydney Olympic Park to participate in the Schools
Spectacular rehearsals. This is a very proud achievement for Wamberal Public School to be selected as part of 5,500 performers from across
NSW. A big thank you goes to Mrs Burgess and Mrs Crawley for supporting our performers through the many rehearsals, both at school and
over the coming weeks in Sydney, in the lead up to the performances being held on Friday 22 November and Saturday 23 November.
Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL)This week, we are focusing on being safe, respectful learners in the office. Teachers will be rewarding students with SRLs for demonstrating
safe, respectful learner behaviour throughout the week.

Student HealthOur school assists students who have health support needs at school by providing first aid (including emergency care), provision of temporary
care when students become unwell at school, the administration of prescribed medications and health care procedures and the development of
individual health care plans if required.
Written parental permission is required if your child needs to carry an asthma puffer or Epipen with them whilst at school. Please contact our
School Administration Manager if this is a requirement of your child’s health condition, so that the necessary paperwork can be arranged.
Parents of children with health care needs are required to inform the school of any change in their child’s health care needs. More information
about student health is available on our school website (http://www.wamberal-p.schools.nsw.edu.au/caring-for-students/student-health).
First Aid OfficersOur first aid officers are Jan and Raelene and our sick bay is located in the administration building. If you injure yourself while on site, please go
to the office or ask someone to alert the first aid officers who will assist you.
Wambles Transition to Kindergarten 2020Tomorrow we welcome our new Kindergarten 2020 students and their families as they commence their ‘big school’ journey. Our new students
will participate in class learning programs with teachers and school support staff whilst their parents enjoy a tour of our school facilities led by
our Student Leadership Team and Sports Captains 2019.
Have a great week everyone.

National Frog Week 8-17 Nov — Australian MuseumYou can help Australian frogs by taking part in Frog ID Week as a citizen scientist. Counting
frogs provides our scientists with valuable data for the protection and conservation of our
frogs which are under threat from habitat loss, disease and climate change. You can also
explore the current Frog ID records. Download the free app
(https://www.frogid.net.au/) and register today.
Diwali — 27th October 2019Kindergarten and Stage 1 classes enjoyed learning about Diwali celebrations last week. Students in different classes repeatedly referred to the
Diwali Rangoli presentations as “amazing” and “the best thing in my life”. They continue to ask for more time to view the Rangoli patterns. So,
take another look here (https://www.bing.com/videos/search?

Year 6 Canberra Excursion Term 4, Week 4During last week Year 6 students from our school undertook an education tour of the national capital. Students were given the opportunity to
participate in a variety of educational programs with a focus on Australia’s history, culture, heritage and democracy. The Australian
Government recognises the importance of all young Australians being able to visit the national capital as part of their Civics and Citizenship
education. To assist families in meeting the cost of the excursion the Australian Government is contributing funding of $20 per student under
the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate (PACER) program towards those costs. The rebate is paid directly to the school now that the
excursion has been completed.
The Salvation Army - State of EmergencySalvation Army Emergency Services (SAES) teams are responding as unprecedented,
catastrophic fires cause tragic loss of life and property. The situation is changing by the
hour.
With our emergency reserves exhausted, I am calling on you, our generous supporters, to
help us reach our $3 million target (https://thesalvationarmydm.createsend1.com/t/d-l-
xiuidtl-jdkkttutuk-i/) so that we can assist devastated families impacted by this disaster.
