out the warranty conditions offered by
Blackmer.
It is especially important for the
operations described in this manual to be
carried out by an Approved Blackmer
Service Point at the stipulated intervals
in order to take full advantage of the
warranty. (*)
We also recommend that you observe
the suggested maintenance intervals even
after the warranty period has elapsed.

Blackmer SA guarantees all its newcompressors and systems under normaloperating and maintenance conditions.
Warranty terms and conditions:
• All Blackmer compressors and systems areguaranteed, parts and labour, for a period oftwo years from the date of their installationprovided the warranty conditions arecomplied with.
• Blackmer grants a one-year extension ofthe warranty if:1. BSC (Blackmer Screw Compressor) oil isused for lubricating the compressor orsystem (this type of oil is to be used as ofcommissioning or, at the latest, on the firstoil change after 10 hours of opration). BSCoil is supplied solely by Blackmer and itsapproved service points.
2. The compressor or system runs at theauthorised number of revolutions to bedocumented by vehicle management in theprogramming report.3. The intervals of servicing and maintenanceare recorded in this Manual.4. Should you wish to take advantage of thewarranty extension, the type of oil used foreach oil change is specified in this User’sManual and Warranty (box provided forthis purpose in the Service andMaintenance form).- This guarantee requires the compressor andits accessories to be serviced by an ApprovedBlackmer Service Point in accordance withthe recommended maintenance intervals.

Important:
The warranty period starts from the datethe compressor is installed on the vehicle orsystem in its package and only if originalBlackmer spare parts/systems are used or ifspare parts explicity authorized by Blackmerare used for the desired application. Thisdate shall, without fail, be indicated on theWarranty Card at the end of this Manual.
The Blackmer warranty shall not beapplicable unless this card is returned toBlackmer.
Warranty restrictions:
This warranty shall not apply to:
• normal maintenance operations (e.g. oilchanges, belt tensioning) ;
• replacement of normal wear parts (e.g. airfilter elements) ;
• use of the equipment in conditions otherthan those recommended by the manu-facturer or the installer ;
• use of the equipment in conditions otherthan those for which it was designed.

Maintenance Operations

Level 1Works to be carried out before useevery day by the user:
• Check the state of the suction filter andvacuum gauge. Clean or replace the ele-ments as necessary.
• Inspect the driving unit.
• Check the compressor and system are sealed.
• Check that the compressor is not rotatingin reverse when unloading is completed(non-return valve problem).
• For IC systems (with intercooler): checkthat the fan is properly started/in freerotation.
Level 2Works to be carried out once amonth by the user:
• Inspect the suction line for any leaks.Tighten collars and fittings as necessary.
• Check on the oil level. Top it up as necessary.
• Clean and drain the oil gauge.
• Check that the relief safety valve is workingcorrectly. If not, change it.
• If the discharge line has a filter, inspectand clean it as necessary, or change it.
• Check all connection/fixing points of thecompressor and its accessories.
• For compressors fitted with an extradrive/multiplier device (13R/15L): inspectthe suction grill and the state of the fan.Clean as necessary.
• For BD (belt-driven) systems: check belttension. Re-tension as necessary.

Level 3Maintenance to be carried out everyyear by a Blackmer Service Point:
• Dismantle the non-return valves; cleanand repair as necessary.
• Check that the relief safety valve is correctlycalibrated.
• Check that the air filter/suction filtervacuum gauge is working correctly.
• Check on the mechanical integrity of thesupports (weld seams, tightening of nutsand bolts, state of screw eyes and elasticretaining clamps, etc.). Check all seals onthe compressor and its accessories.
• Check that the rotation speed range is theright one for the built-in pressure reliefvalve. (Check that the calibration of thevalve governing the compressor rotation
speed range does not exceed the maximumpressure permitted for the compressor).
• For IC systems (with intercooler): visuallyinspect the electric wiring. Check the electricinsulation/tractor chassis.
Level 4Works to be carried out every twoyears by a Blackmer Service Point:
• For DD (direct driven) systems: dismantleand check the torque limiter calibration.
• Change the oil filter and clean themagnetic plugs.
