Landfill and Energy Recovery• Leachate monitoring• Leachate = Water that has been in contact

with waste (rainwater)

• Landfill gas recovery• ½ Methane, ½ Carbon Dioxide = lots of

greenhouse gases!• Last year produced 2.5 million kilowatts.• One light bulb is 60 kilowatts.

That’s 41,667 light blubs.

Each house has 30 light bulbs (?)

That’s almost 1400 homes a year.
