Incase of non-availability of standards, good engineering practice will be

adopted.

9.0 Process description:

MBBR Technology

The sewage generated from the various sources will be collected in the collection

tank through the bar screen chamber in order to remove the floating materials and

particle size greater than 15mm. The Screened sewage is then led to the aeration

tank.

In the aeration tank, air is diffused through special type of diffusers to oxidize the

organic matters with the help of air blower & diffuser arrangement. Biological

treatment takes place through MBBR media. Then the overflow from aeration tank

is sent to the Clarifier tank for settling. The bioflocs formed in the aeration tank will

be settled at the bottom of the Clarifier tank through Clarifier rake mechanism and

the settled sludge will be pumped to the sludge holding tank through the return

sludge pump. From sludge holding tank, the sludge will be fed to filter press unit

for dewatering purpose through screw pumps.

The clarified overflow will be collected in the Clarified water tank from where it is

pumped to the Pressure Sand Filter, Activated Carbon Filter through Filter feed

pump for the removal of suspended solids, organic matter and odour. The filtered

water is stored in the filtered water tank / UF feed tank.

The filtered water will then be fed to the UF unit through UF feed pump. UF

permeate water will be used for flushing & gardening. UF backwash & cleaning are

done at regular intervals in order to prevent the membranes from chocking and

scaling of the membrane.

9.0 Process description:

MBBR Technology

The sewage generated from the various sources will be collected in the collection

tank through the bar screen chamber in order to remove the floating materials and

particle size greater than 15mm. The Screened sewage is then led to the aeration

tank.

In the aeration tank, air is diffused through special type of diffusers to oxidize the

organic matters with the help of air blower & diffuser arrangement. Biological

treatment takes place through MBBR media. Then the overflow from aeration tank

is sent to the Clarifier tank for settling. The bioflocs formed in the aeration tank will

be settled at the bottom of the Clarifier tank through Clarifier rake mechanism and

the settled sludge will be pumped to the sludge holding tank through the return

sludge pump. From sludge holding tank, the sludge will be fed to filter press unit

for dewatering purpose through screw pumps.

The clarified overflow will be collected in the Clarified water tank from where it is

pumped to the Pressure Sand Filter, Activated Carbon Filter through Filter feed

pump for the removal of suspended solids, organic matter and odour. UV dosing is

given for disinfection purpose. The filtered water is stored in the treated water tank

from where it is usde for gardening purpose.
