For centuries, it’s benefited from flowing water to run machines and mills and wind up water wheels . But nowadays, water energy is not used directly. It’s converted to hydroelectric energy and then used.

The hydroelectric plants convert the power of flowing water to electric. The amount of energy which is in flowing water is formed by the flow or fall speed of the water. The flowing water in a big river has a high amount of energy.

HOW İS İT CONVERTED???

The flowing or falling water is taken into

water-channel or pipes and flows to the turbines and provides the arms of the

turbines. Turbines are connected with the

generators and they convert mechanical energy to electric energy.
