    Water pollution of the

Seine... Many rivers are polluted in Franceand the water of the Seine flowingwithin Paris is far from reflecting thesplendor of our beautiful romantic .Indeed, the quality of waterresources has deteriorated in recentdecades due to human activities

(intensive agriculture, increasingurbanization and industrialpollution.) In March 2011, no lessthan 10 tons of waste were removedfrom the Seine. The Seine, this 777 km long river, which flows into the Channel iscontaminated with pollutants of human origin. Thus theconsumption and marketing of fishcaught in the Seine are prohibited .

Polluted water and health The rivers are often polluted, which has implications

for our health. Many preparations or mixturesintended to protect plants against insects, fungior "weeds" can penetrate the soil andaccumulate to reach groundwater. In the environment some of these pesticides aretransformed into molecules or degradation of metabolites which are numerous and sometimesvery difficult to detect. At home, the toilet water as water washing is asource of organic pollution (fat) but alsochemical (washing powders, detergents ) The Department of Health's mission is tomonitor and analyze production facilities andthe quality of water supply.Tap water is potable according to their criteria

but one must remain alert to toxic hazards.Indeed, some French regions (mountains, countryside) where the population is supplied by

small distribution units are in a worryingsituation. Polluted water can contain germs thatcause enteric gastroenteritis, hepatitis A, ulcersand stomach cancer in fragile populations(children, pregnant women). Cases of legionellosis were also observed.

We must educatepolluters...Industry needs lots of water to produce goodsand thats when the Seine and other rivers

come in the picture, though not a pretty one.Water can then be used for a variety of processsuch as cooling manufacturing machinery orcreating products such as plastic for example.

Moreover all the phenomena of combustionare causing the formation of polycyclicaromatic hydrocarbons or PAH (incineration, steel, motor vehicles, fires, smoking, combustion gas). PAHs then end up in thehuman body by inhalation, ingestion, but alsothrough the skin. Of course, it causes diseases.

Unfortunately, our environment does notcurrently have the ability to naturally treat themass of waste generated by industrialproduction and human beings.
