sponsored a flower barrel at the fair last year!
We’d like to continue this as a new tradition and
plant them again this year.
The cost is lowered to $20/barrel so call the office
507-375-1275 or email Sue at [email protected] if
you or your club is interested in sponsoring a barrel.

will receive your fair premium book in the mail. Be
sure and showcase your handiwork at the county
fair!

[email protected] to sign up. We’ll send you
detailed information about the event.
COMMUNITY HELP NEEDED
Little Pantry Help The Little Pantry is a pantry located outside of the
Human services building to assist people with
personal care needs and small food supplies.
Use is steady and the things that go quickest are
diapers, toilet paper, cereals, and personal items like
soap and toothpaste.
If you are interested, the Dollar Store in St James and
Madelia has smaller bags of cereal like cheerios for
$1.00. They are the perfect size to help a family get
through a couple days. All donations can be dropped
at the desk in Human Services and we try to place
items in the pantry a couple times a week. Warmer
weather gives us the chance to put out canned goods
also. Thanks you for considering helping our
neighbors that wonder where their next meal will
come from or when there is more month than
money.
St. James Railroad Days 4-H Help St. James Railroad Days Parade is looking for 4-H
youth to carry banners during the parade in 2019.
They would sponsor the banner for businesses that
sponsor different units. They need two youth per
banner and you may wear your club 4-H shirts or any
4-H shirt.
If interested call Jason Monnens at 507-381-7809

Club leaders have a list of youth that are in need of
training. Youth that showed livestock in prior years,
have livestock listed as a project area, and
certificates expiring will also get a letter with
training details in March. If you do not get a letter
and believe you need the training, please call the
office.
Statewide One-day Livestock Training Minnesota 4-H is offering 4-H livestock day camps at
six different locations. At each site, we will look in-
depth at topics such as fitting and showmanship,
animal health and hoof/foot care, nutrition and

Look at the trainings offered and see if your
livestock project is being highlighted. Youth are
required to identify one animal type that they will
learn about during the day.
The trainings will focus on youth grade 6 and up;
younger members will be welcome if they bring a
parent or adult chaperone.
