TRANSCRIPT
Equipment modernization package APPLICATION The HS-200 PT RO Processor is specifically designed to supply treated water for point-of-use electric steam generators to significantly reduce or eliminate boiler scaling and to extend peak equipment performance. This unit is intended for use with a single sterilizer/electric boiler combination – with boilers in the range of 12 to 30 KW. FEATURES • Universal mounting system for quick, easy
installation. • Attractive Stainless Steel Cabinet. • Small size (24”x16”x20”) permits installation
virtually anywhere. BENEFITS • Requires service connection to cold / hot water
supply and drain. No electrical requirement. • Extended life from boiler heating element. • Increased reliability – fewer equipment breakdowns
due to boiler scaling. • Convenient quarterly maintenance intervals with
economical PM packages available.
SPECIFICATIONS • Provides 5-50 TDS output water from potable
water sources up to 2000 TDS, 250 ppm or 14 grains hardness.
PM package (available separately) Includes a year’s supply of consumable components.

4. Secure front panel. A full one-year supply of filters is supplied with system upon installation. After one year of service the HS-200 will need to have an annual PM kit ordered #61301605518 this kit will include one full year supply of pre-filters and three replacement membranes.
Customer Service Toll Free Hot Line: 888-774-7405 1725 W. Williams Dr. C-20 Phoenix, AZ 85027
Membrane replacement: Performed every year after the first year in service. Annual PM Procedures: Follow quarterly PM procedures as described above.
1. Remove top and front panels 2. Remove 3 prefilters and post calcite feeders (DO NOT REPALACE WITH
NEW FILTERS AT THIS TIME) 3. Remove 3 Reverse Osmosis Membranes (figure 5) 4. Replace with new membranes provided in PM kit #501020 5. Replace 3 prefilters and PH Balancer. Installing these filters will turn the water
supply on to the unit and start production of water.
Figure 4 Figure 5 Figure 6 Remove eight screws from front panel. Remove front panel. Remove first stage filter to shut down incoming water flow to system. Drain the tank of boiler feed water by performing a blow down on the boiler. After tank has been completely drained, disconnect the membranes by pressing in on the collets around the colored tubing (figure 6) to the membrane and pull. Each membrane should be removed one at a time insuring proper placement of tubing in corresponding color coded ports. Re-tighten first stage filter to start water flow, listen for permeate pumps to begin pulsating and check for leaks then secure panel. By passing the unit: The HS-200 unit can be placed into by pass if for some reason the equipment has failed and or has clogged filters. To by pass the RO system, open top panel by removing eight screws (figure 7)and open ½” brass “Watts” ball valve (figure 8) for tap water by-pass. After service has been achieved close the “Watts” ball valve and wait for the system to begin permeating.

Installation Instructions Valve should be installed and adjusted by a licensed contractor in accordance with local codes and ordinances. Further, this valve should be Installed in a location where it is accessible for cleaning, service or adjustment.
1 . Close both the hot and cold water shutoff valves upstream nearest to the intended installation.
2. Bleed the remaining water from the system.
3. Connect the water supply to valve as shown in Flgure 1 or 2, depending on the application. Supply piping must be flushed clean before making connections to the valve.
IMPORTANT!: To prolong the life of the Model 1170-M2, L1170-M2 valve, it is recommended that it be trapped as shown: I.e. t11e hot water inlet to the 1170-M2 valve should be 8" - 12" (200 - 305mm) below the hot water supply feed.
4. Valve can be installed in any position. Note: the inlet hot supply is to be connected to the "H" side of the valve, the cold supply side to the "C" side and the mixed water outlet to the "M" side. ·
~ 5. Make sure union nuts are placed over tailpieces prior to

Note: To prevent damage to valve from excessive heat during soldering, remove unions and gaskets from valve body prior to
~ soldering .
7. After soldering, flush piping and install valve using filter washer on hot and cold water inlet and fiber washer on the mixed water outlet.
8. Start-up: Open cold water supply, then hot water supply. Inspect for leaks.
9. Adjust temperature to desired setting (see Temperature Adjustment Section).

1 . Let water flow for at least two minutes to allow supply temperature to stabilize.
2. Calibrate the mixed water outlet temperature by placing a thermometer in the mixed water stream.
3. To adjust the setting of the valve, loosen locking cap screw with hex wrench, see Figure 3. Cap must be lifted 1/4" to adjust temperature. To increase the temperature, turn counterclockwise. To decrease temperature turn clockwise.
4. Lower handle and tighten screw.
5. Check outlet temperature.
Period Inspection/Maintenance Tl1is valve requires periodic inspection and verification of the outlet temperature by a licensed contractor. Corrosive water conditions, hot inlet water temperature over 200°F (93°C), unauthorized adjustments or repairs could render the valve ineffective for its intended service. Regular cleaning and checking of thermostat assembly helps to maximize valve life and mixing function. Frequency of cleaning depends on local water conditions.

tWARNlNG Watts Hot Water Temperature Control Valves cannot be used for tempering water tempera~e at fixtures. Severe bodily injury O.e. scalding or chilling) and/or dej;th may result depending upon system water pressure changes. ASSE Standard 1016, ASSE 1070 listed devices such as Watts Model L 111 or Series USG, or MMV should be used at fixtures to prevent possible injury. The Watts Hot Water Temperature Control Valves are designed to be inslalled at or near the boiler or water heater. They are not designed to compensate for system pressure fluctuations and should not be used where ASSE 1016 devices are required. These WATIS valves should never be used to provide "anti-scald" or 'anti-chill" service.
When installing the Series 1170-M2 valves in a radiant heat ilpplicatlon, the components of the radiant heat system must be of materials with a construction capable of wilhstanding the high fimlt output temperatures of the heating boiler. If you are uncertain as to the product's adaptability for your application, please consult an authorized representative before installing or using the product.
