WOMEN’S PHILANTHROPY FUND Founded in 2002, the Women’s Philanthropy Fund (WPF) includes women business and community leaders who invest $10,000 or more annually with Orange County United Way. In addition to contributing to Orange County United Way’s Community Impact work, and charities of personal importance, WPF members allocate a portion of their contributions to focus on building self- sufficiency for women and girls. The Women’s Philanthropy Fund is part of the Orange County United Way Women’s Leadership Council, a group of more than 250 women philanthropists who leverage the giving power of women to inspire others to make a difference in Orange County. The Women’s Philanthropy Fund is part of a larger movement of United Way Women’s Leadership Councils nationwide. With a network of 50,000 passionate women, United Way Women’s Leadership Councils mobilize the caring power of women to advance the common good in more than 120 communities. By 2012, the Council expects to reach $1 billion dollars in funds raised. Thanks to the generosity of Orange County United Way Women’s Leadership Council, comprised of Women’s Philanthropy Fund and Women Looking Forward, more than $12.2 million to date has been raised for programs that empower women and girls in Orange County.
