OBJECTIVES
Become familiar with WEAVEonline software
Understand how WEAVEonline is used as an assessment tool
Learn how to enter assessment related data in the following fields:
Outcomes/Objectives
Measures/Targets/Findings
Action Plans
Achievement Summary/Analysis
Annual Reporting
Document Management
What does WEAVE stand for?
W – write outcomes/objectives
E – establish criteria for success
A – assess performance against criteria
V – view assessment results
E – effect improvements through actions
Login Page
Access the website at:
https://app.weaveonline.com/UvaWise/login.aspx
Weave login is the personal ID part of your email address
Password – a password will be given to you, which you may change
OUTCOMES/OBJECTIVES
Good outcomes are specific, measurable, and achievable
Outcomes should have:
a short title
a longer description
Use measurable verbs such as;
association with the College’s Strategic Plan and/or General Education
Each outcome needs to be associated with at least one measure
Outcomes/Objectives
MEASURES
Explain how you intend to measure the associated Outcomes
It evaluates progress toward the Outcomes/Objectives you set forth
Each Measure must be associated with a Source of Evidence otherwise WEAVEonline will not work
Measures may be direct or indirect
SOURCES OF EVIDENCE
MEASURES – an example of entering data
ACHIEVEMENT TARGETS
It is necessary to create a target for performance anticipated
An example of a target would be: “95% of students will achieve at least an 8 on a scale of 1-10”
A target should be quantifiable
Note: you must first add a Measure that is related to and Outcome/Objective before an achievement target can be added
FINDINGS All data collected for a particular measure is entered in the findings
section
Once data is entered you need to declare whether your achievement target was Met or not by selecting the appropriate radio button
ACTION PLAN TRACKING
If your Achievement Target was not Met, develop an Action Plan to improve future results.
Or you may review existing Action Plans in the Action Plan Tracking Section
Actions may also be taken to further strengthen an already strong area of performance
Associate an Action with a Measure/Objective and describe resources needed
Even if you have met all your targets; Action Plans are required for any opportunities for improvement in the upcoming year
ACTION PLAN TRACKING
ACHIEVEMENT SUMMARY/ANALYSIS
Currently, they are two Analysis questions focusing on strengths and weaknesses perceived as a result of assessment activities
An area of reflection and integration
Explore what evidence means and what needs to be done
Bulk of narrative located and should be full and thorough
May be speculative
ANNUAL REPORTING
A program’s “public face”
Serves as an abstract of the unit’s overall activities
Most of the information will pertain to assessment, but also places to highlight broader activities the unit’s faculty/staff are involved with
Most important Assessment sections are: Executive Summary – the year’s assessment highlights
Improvement from Action Plans – any action taken on Action Plans
Challenges – any difficulties during the academic year
DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT
A repository for all documents the program employs in assessment
Documents may be connected to various areas in WEAVEonline
Creates an archive of documents
Examples of documents to upload:
Rubrics
Surveys
Reports
