Thursday April 16th:1) Spellings: Week 28 Day 4: Learn and write three sentences.2) Complete Just Handwriting page 403) Conjunctions are joining words. They hep us join two sentences. And, so, because, but,

therefore are conjunctions. Starlight p36 Activity A. 4) Maths Tables -115) Remember if something is divided into four equal part each part is one quarter. Imagine the

clock like a pizza divided into quarters. If the big hand starts at 12 and is now pointing at 3 it has gone one quarter and we call that “quarter past”. If it is at 6 it has gone two quarters or half so we call that “half past”. If it is at 9 it has gone three quarters and only has one quarter more to get to 12 again so we call that “quarter to”. Get an adult to show you different times (quarter past, half past, quarter to only) on a clock and you name the time. Then repeat but this time the adult calls out the time and you show it on the clock. Busy at Maths p116 Q1.

6) Irish: Cad is ainm duit? ____ is ainm dom. / Is mise ____.7) Art: Stick wind chime. You will need – 4 or 5 sticks of various lengths (bigger heavier ones

are better), string, stuff to decorate the sticks (paint, ribbon, tape, beads, markers – let your imagination run riot). Tie your decorated sticks onto a larger stick - See images on next page. Hang it outside and listen.

digits tell the hours, then there is a colon and the next two digits tell the minutes. So half past 8 will be 08:30 in digital time. What time is 02:00? What time is 10:30?
