5 th and 6 th CLASS HOMEWORK

(Monday 13th – Friday 24th April)

Hi all,

Hope everyone is well and all are keeping safe. Here is the following school work and revision for the next 2 weeks.

All English written work is to be done in the English Home Copies and all Maths Busy at Maths work is to be done in the Maths Home Copies. If the children do not have any of these copies, they can use another copy to do their work in. At this stage you should be able to access the Maths work through the CJ Fallon website (Busy at Maths 5 & 6) and the answer booklets are on the school website from the last work I posted . Remember if you have any problems, just send a mail to the school hotmail address and we will easily sort it out. If you forgot the directions to the CJ Fallon website, they are below:

Go to cjfallon.ie and click on the Important notice tab. Here you should be able to navigate through the tabs (click on primary, the relevant class, subject, the book (Busy at Maths)) and the book should appear below. To access it, you will need a name and e mail address.

New addition: Primary Planet Reading: Go into the website given on Monday’s work and click on the April Issue, where you will be able to read the magazine online. Follow the daily instructions to know how much to read each day and whether you have an oral or written activity to do.

It is advisable to maybe do a small bit of work, take a physically active break and go back to the next subject then.

As the extension period is lasting longer than April 24th , I will be giving the children access to work from other websites to vary up the work.

I would like to check on the 5th and 6th class once a week to see how everyone is getting on with the work and to see if anyone has any difficulties. I would like to do this through ZOOM. The link for Zoom is https://zoom.us/ or just type Zoom into the Google search engine and it will appear. The children will need an email address for this (please use your parents e mail ). I will send on a password and code to the parents for them to log in to the site and we as a class will be able to see and talk to each other. Hopefully this all goes well!!! I will Zoom chat with 5th class on Thursday, 23rd April at 12 o clock and with 6th class on Friday, 24thth April at 12 o clock.( I am aware of issues surrounding Zoom, so I will keep you updated regarding this arrangement.) This chat is just to see if anyone has any problems with any of the work set out, to go through one or two explanations more than likely in Maths and to see if we can use it more regularly during this time period. The children should still be able to correct their daily work up to that time.

As I’ve said before not stress and try and get what you can done.If you do not understand something I can easily go back over it. Also its very important to take a physically active break between subjects.
