Remember to carry on reading every day, as we would do in school!

EnglishThis week we will focus on writing our very own diaries. We can use what we learnt the other week about adjectives to help us make very interesting pieces of writing.

Activity One: We will use time adverbials throughout our diaries. An adverbial of time is a word or phrases which tells the reader when the action in the sentence took place. Below is a list of some time adverbials.

again now often soon early never eventually occasionally suddenly . in the morning tonight first then finally after

Please now write 5 sentences about your day so far using some of these time adverbials. Can you come up with any time adverbials of your own?

Activity Two: Please focus on writing your very own diary this week. I would like it to contain at least three different entries – three different days! You can either write about what you are doing at home or you can be imaginative and write about a made up characters week- have they been busy flying to the moon or exploring the oceans Please use the extract of Ernest’s diary to help you with the layout of your own diary extracts- include a date, sign it off and start with dear diary.

I look forward to seeing what you have written!

Challenge X: Can you have a go at completing this spelling punctuation and gramma grid. Could you make your own one for a family member to work on?
