upon leaving for the day with the supplies that have been provided.

Employees are to report to your immediate supervisor any concerns that arise regarding exposure to someone who has tested positive to COVID-19.

o Supervisors made aware of an employee who has tested positive for COVID-19 will follow the FWISD Response Guidelines.

Parents or guardian will be required to pre-screen their children for COVID-19 symptoms each day prior to sending them to school. Parents will need to take their child’s temperature daily.

Parents must ensure they do not send a child to school on campus if the child has COVID-19 symptoms.

Parents must ensure they do not send a child to school on campus if the child has Lab-confirmed COVID-19, until all of the following conditions for re-entry are met.

Students and staff will be permitted to return to school when the following three conditions are met: They are 1-day (24 hours) fever-free without using fever-reducing medication; They have improved symptoms (cough, difficulty breathing, etc.); 10 days have passed since symptoms began.

Staff and students should not enter campuses or District buildings if any of the followingapply.

They are sick or have been sick in the past 14 days. Symptoms to watch for include fever (100°F or higher), cough, shortness of breath/difficulty breathing, chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell, shaking or exaggerated shivering, diarrhea.

They have confirmed cases of COVID-19 or have been in close contact with people with confirmed cases of COVID-19. These individuals must follow all isolation and quarantine guidelines from local health authorities or their physicians.

They have a household member who is awaiting COVID-19 test results, or they are awaiting their own test results. They have traveled internationally or on a cruise in the past 14 days. These individuals must follow current CDC recommendations.

Additional screening may be conducted upon arrival to school and during the school day.

Teachers will monitor students and refer them to the nurse if symptoms are present.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)/Face MaskOne of the most effective measures to prevent the spread of the virus is using face masks. All students in Fort Worth ISD will wear face masks while on a school bus, in a school facility, and throughout the school day. This requirement is subject to change.

Masks include non-medical grade disposable face masks or cloth face coverings over the nose and mouth.

The School will provide students with cloth and disposable masks as needed.

Students may also choose to wear their own, washable, reusable masks from home.

Masks must adhere to the District dress code policy on clothing and accessories, FNCA (Local), no lewd, vulgar or offensive clothing or pictures/symbols that promote hate, gang violence, drugs, etc.

Students unable to wear face masks for documented health reasons may be provided with a reusable face shield as an alternative. School will provide one face shield for each student every semester

Individual needs regarding face masks will be addressed on a case-by-case basis.

Requests for accommodations should be submitted to campus administration.

Hand Washing and Disinfecting ExpectationsFrequent hand sanitization and disinfection will be required to ensure the health and safety of students and staff.

Hand sanitizer will be available at the main entry to the campus, in classrooms, in the cafeteria, and in common areas throughout the campus.o Staff and students will be expected to regularly wash or sanitize their hands.

Staff and students will practice habitual and thorough hand washing after recess, before eating, and following restroom breaks. Staff will have access to disinfectant solutions to sanitize high-touch and working surfaces and shared objects frequently.

o Staff will limit the use of shared supplies when possible.

Daily Campus Cleaning

Routine cleaning of schools and facilities, with special attention to specific high- use area:

o such as door handles, knobs, and buttons. Cleaning throughout the school day for restrooms and any other high-use common areas. Restrooms will be frequently stocked with soap and paper

towels. Daily application of disinfectants registered with the EPA and approved for contact services. Daily spraying of our facilities, buses, and classrooms including items such as computer keyboards, math manipulatives, books, etc. Cleaning supplies for each classroom, such as EPA certified disinfectant spray and disinfectant wipes to clean desks and surfaces periodically.

Classroom SafetyClassroom protocols and procedures will include expectations about school supplies, social distancing, limiting group work, hand washing and sanitizing:

Students will participate in a health screening upon arrival to school. Students who do not pass health screenings or exhibit a temperature of 100 degrees Fahrenheit or higher will be referred to the school nurse for a parent pick up.

o Physical distancing will be implemented during in-person instructional settings. Proper handwashing procedures will be taught in every classroom. Additional preventative information shared with students will include covering

your cough or sneeze, avoid touching your face, maintain physical distance, and use of face masks. Campus staff will ensure high-touch areas in the classroom are wiped in between classes. Whenever possible, students and staff will maintain consistent groupings of people to minimize the spread of the virus. Technology should be utilized when students are involved in collaborative work.

Each classroom will be outfitted with the following: Visual reminders of distancing requirements, with areas marked off for common spaces and distancing best practices. Refillable alcohol-based hand sanitizer stations. Access to disinfectant to sanitize working surfaces. No-touch thermometers for temperature checks. Elementary: Containers for students to store single-user items such as pencils, crayons, scissors, ear buds, etc.

Isolation Procedures and COVID-19 CasesFor students displaying symptoms of COVID- 19 or who are feeling feverish, the school nurse will provide clinical assessments to determine if and when students need to be sent home.

Students who are ill will be separated from their peers and should be picked up as soon as possible. Staff members displaying COVID-19 symptoms will follow District protocols, including isolation from students and other staff members. If an individual who has been in a school is lab-confirmed to have COVID-19, the school must notify the Fort Worth ISD Health Services Department. Schools will identify any areas impacted by COVID-19 positive individuals for proper cleaning and disinfection. District communication will be provided to the students who came in close contact with a student or staff member displaying COVID-19 symptoms.

Communication will be provided without disclosing the name of the infected individual. Individuals will be required to follow advice from the medical professionals including the possible imposition of a 14-day quarantine. Campuses and/or classrooms will be closed for cleaning in accordance with current guidelines.

Campus Transitions for StudentsArrival

All persons entering the building, including faculty, staff, administrators, and students must: (1) wear a mask; (2) successfully complete a wellness check; (3) maintain at least six feet distance from others in accordance with CDC guidelines.

Teachers must arrive early enough to self-screen and be in place at classroom door, ready to receive students, by 7:40 a.m. Students will go directly to their classrooms to be screened by their teacher if they are not having breakfast. Students waiting to be screened will stand on the yellow stickers on the floor to ensure social distancing is maintained. Parents are not permitted to enter the building at this time. If parents need to speak with the office, they must have an appointment or be screened if allowed in the office. Any student that does not successfully complete the wellness check (i.e.: running a fever; cough; other symptoms of Covid-19), will be escorted by a

teacher assistant to the isolation room. Parents will be called to pick student up. Assigned Staff will be on duty in the hallways to ensure that students maintain social distancing and go directly to class or breakfast. Pre-Kindergarten assistants will wait by the Azle Avenue entrance and will escort PK students to the classroom teacher as they arrive. Each assistant

will only escort one student at a time. Teachers will verbally greet students at the classroom door and screen them by taking their temperature, but at this time will refrain from previously

established personal greeting routines such as: handshaking, hugging, fist-bumping, etc. Students may have until 8:10 a.m. to complete breakfast. At 8:10 all classrooms will engage in an SEL lesson following the provided curriculum. Content area instruction begins promptly at 8:40 a.m.

Hallways/Bathroom/Water Explicit instruction regarding bathroom, water, and hallway procedures will take place when students return to the campus. Whole-class bathroom breaks are not permitted at this time because they pose a challenge to social distancing. Pre-Kindergarten students may visit the restroom one at a time and must be accompanied by a teacher assistant. Classrooms will be issued two restroom passes, one for boys and one for girls. Specific stalls and sinks in both the boys’ and girls’ downstairs restrooms will be strategically closed to limit the number of students in the restroom

and to help maintain appropriate social distancing. Stickers will be placed on the floor outside the restrooms to maintain social distancing for any students waiting to use the restroom. Campus will mitigate the use of water fountains. Students are expected to bring their own reusable water bottle for use throughout the day and expected to take water bottles home to be cleaned on

a daily basis. Campus staff will monitor and instruct students to fill water bottles instead of drinking directly from the water fountains to the extent possible. Students are not to be sent to the office, counselor, or to run teacher “errands” for any reason. Teachers will call the front office if they need

assistance.Visiting the Counselor

If a student needs to speak to counselor, teachers must: (1) first ensure that classroom strategies have been utilized; (2) if classroom strategies are inappropriate or ineffective, call the front office and ask for counselor; (3) wait for counselor to arrive.

If at all possible, counselor will speak with the student in the hallway outside the classroom. If the student needs greater intervention than can be provided in the hallway, Ms. Jones may walk the student to the counseling room.

Technology in the Classroom Students may not use the computer lab at this time. Teachers may utilize the Chromebook Carts, Laptops, and iPads in the classroom. Communal computers are not to be used at this time due to possible cross contamination. Librarian may push-in to classrooms to assist with technology. Any technology used in the classroom must be properly disinfected after each student uses it and technology will also be wiped down at the

conclusion of each day.Library

Students may not visit the library at this time. Librarian will push-in to classrooms in accordance with the established library schedule. Librarian will model for students how to access and utilize e-books at home. Students may read library books in the classroom, but may not take books home at this time. When students are finished with a library book, they will place the book in the appropriate bin located in the classroom. On Fridays, Librarian will collect the books where they will be quarantined for three days to ensure the books are safe to handle. The books will be

shelved only after the three days. During library time in the classroom, Librarian may also conduct lessons about internet safety and provide read alouds of SEL related texts.
