MONEY - REVISION [Coins up to 5c]

Activity 1For this activity you need a 12 bun tray, paper and the following coins: 22 x 1c / 8 x 2c / 1 x 5cMake 12 labels showing these amounts: 1c / 2c / 2c / 3c / 3c / 4c / 4c / 4c / 5c / 5c / 5c / 5c The challenge is to use all of the coins to make the various amounts – some encouragement and support may be required, e.g. “Can you think of another way to make 5c? Yes, because 2+2+1 makes 5!”

Activity 4How much? Look at the coins and match to the correct amount:

Activity 5 Arrange in order “starting with the smallest” + repeat “starting with the biggest” Ask “what’s the least amount?” “what’s the most amount?”

Activity 6Think about it! “You can keep just one of these (1x5c or 4x1c) … Which one would you keep … Tell me why!”
