JGL Bridge CALL TO ACTION - We are asking the Georgia General Assembly to name the Savannah bridge after Juliette Gordon Low, a woman who made—and through her legacy continues to make—an extraordinary impact on the lives of millions of girls in Georgia and across our country.

Visit our website to learn more about the effort and access a petition you may sign for support.

If you’re willing to help, please review the attached   “sample letter” and instructions you can use to let your State Senator and State Representative know why you support naming the bridge for Juliette Gordon Low. We would very much appreciate it if you would send a letter yourself, and if you would share this call to action with others in your community.

To encourage girls to take action as part of this letter writing campaign, we are offering a patch to those who do so.  For now, this campaign is only for Georgia residents who can write directly to their legislators at the Georgia State Capitol.  Girls and adults will need to tell us to which legislators they wrote in order to get the patch. Patches are $3 each and will be mailed to the person who orders them. Find the order form at www.gshg.org. Thank you for helping us spread the word!

Extended Year Girl Membership – the attached PDF explains how the Extended Year is an option for NEW girls that allows them to register for $35 in May to be registered for the remainder of the 2017-18 year as well as the upcoming 2018-2019 year.

The deadline for High Awards paperwork to be turned in is MARCH 15th if you want the award to be recognized at the council High Awards Ceremony on May 6, 2018.

Time’s Up -As many of you are aware, the topic of sexual harassment against women is trending today, in part because of celebrities’ participation in the #MeToo and #TimesUp initiatives. Our recently published article “Don’t Want to Talk to Your Kids About Sexual Harassment? Time ’ s Up ” provides tips for having this important but often difficult conversation.
