Follow this patter if your child struggles to remember what they are writing: First think of what you are going to write, then say it 3 times out loud, then write it and finally read it back (make sure you have clear spaces between words, and you use full stops and capital letters
correctly).
*Remember neat writing, correct formation of letters and correct spellings are important too!
Try these maths questionsHow much, count in 2s What is 1 more than:
15 4 7 11 13 19__ __ __ __ __ __
What is 1 less than:
15 4 7 11 13 19__ __ __ __ __ __
Write in the missing numbers:
If you found it tricky try and practise some of your own, get your grown up to make some for you.
Practise doubling by making and drawing ladybirds
Make up your own number sentences
Get a bag of sweets and then practise sharing different amounts of sweets into 2 or 3 or 4, etc groups.
Here is an example of how to record 15 shared by 3
If you found one of the questions challenging why not try and do the same question using different numbers to help practise the concept:
1. Make your own number line with missing numbers. 2. Try 1 more and 1 less with larger numbers.3. Make up your own take away and sharing questions.
REMEMBER: Practise make perfect!
Now to practise counting in 2’s (2,4,6,8……,18, 20) and 10’s (10, 20, 30,…….90, 100). Try is backwards. Use this to help you do the questions below.
Count in 10s to calcuate how much is in each row.
If you found it tricky try some your own by using real coins. It will help you learn to count in 2’s and 10’s.
Practise correctly forming your numbers to 20:
Do it everyday and also practise numbers past 20 if you want to!
Now try and do it without tracing
a b c de f g hi j k l
m n o pq r s tu v w xy z
ai ay oo ee
Repeat this circuit everyday for 3 times (more if you like). GOOD LUCK
Using the letters I sent last week, everyday:1. Put the letters into order into an arc shape (use letters from last week) 2. Practise saying the sound and the name of each one.3. Choose 3 letters to make a word and practise reading it, e.g. cat, cap, pin, mug, etc. Do
this 10 times.4. Write the words done and ensure your writing is neat with letters formed correctly.5. If you are good at 3 letter words try 4 letter words, e.g. went, jump, clap, shop, stay
(notice some sounds are special friends, e.g. sh, ay) Do this 10 times6. Write the words done and ensure your writing is neat with letter formed correctly
CHALLENGE: Can you write sentences with these words
If this is too easy try making the tricky words, e.g. said, all, out, come, child, me, my, etc.Or make words using special friends, e.g. paid, feet, play, school, etc. Add the sounds below to the end of your alphabet arc.
1. 15 star jumps
2. 10 press up
3. Hop on each leg 15 times (so 30 hops in total)
4. 10 leg raises (lie on you back; slowly raise your straight legs up and down). If it’s too hard do one leg at a time.
Can you make up your own routine?
1. Counting carefully
Cut theses pictures up and make a pictogram (it’s like a graph).
1. Cut these pictures up and put them into order. Write a sentence for each picture. Please remember neat wriitng, full stops, capital letters and clear finger spaces when writing.
Can you draw and design your own poster to say thank you
Watch a different traditional story on
https://learnenglishkids.britishcouncil.org/category/topics/traditional-storiesThen draw and write the story in order like a comic (use a bigger piece of paper if needed or more paper if you want)
