Homework for October 7 to 10 As this week is a short week, homework is due on THURSDAY, October 10. If your child has brought home a Character Education bag, please ensure that the bag, activity, and all of the bag contents are returned by Thursday. Parents are responsible for checking that all assignments have been completed, marking each assignment, and having your child do corrections. 1. Home Reading It is very important for students to read for 15-20 minutes each night . Raz Kids log in cards are glued on the inside of the front cover of the homework notebook. Students should be using Raz Kids at least 3 times each week . Each student also received a home reading book on Thursday. Have your child read this book aloud to you. Before your child exchanges this book, make sure they have mastered it and can confidently tell you about the book and can decode all the words. Raz Kids – Each student has their level set by the teacher. As we continue our work together, your child’s level may be changed to a higher or lower level as needed. When using Raz Kids, students should First, read the book, then listen to the book, and finally, do the quiz.

As this week is a short week, homework is due on THURSDAY, October 10.If your child has brought home a Character Education bag, please ensure that the bag, activity, and all of the bag contents are returned by Thursday.Parents are responsible for checking that all assignments have been completed, marking each assignment, and having your child do corrections.

2. Spelling Words:

SPELLING WORK SHOULD BE COMPLETED IN THE HOMEWORK NOTEBOOK

For spelling word practice, please choose ONE option that is most successful for your child. ***All students should be practicing each word at least 3 times each in their notebook.

Option One – Write all of the words three times each in your homework book.   Option Two – Write all of the words three times each in your homework book.   Write one sentence for each word (5 sentences in all) using a capital and a period. For example:  I have one gold fish. 

Option Three – Write all of the words three times each in your homework book. Write one detailed sentence for each word. Include who/what/where/when/why details and/or descriptive words to your sentence. For example: I have a gold fish that I feed every day.

3. Letter Printing Pages – e, i, and h Option 1 - Print off, complete, and place the pages with the homework notebook.

Option 2 – Have your child print the letters in the homework notebook. For each letter, print 4 rows of lowercase and 2 or more words that have the letter sounds (at, ate, all / can, city / did)

*You do not need to complete additional writing for these letters and words.

4. Math:NEW – MATHLETICS– Your child brought home their mathletics card on Thursday in a plastic bag. This card will have their username and password. Please keep it at home in a safe place as it will be needed each week. Every week, your child will be assigned one or more tasks. Your child should not complete any other assignments other than those assigned each week. For additional challenge or review, your child can click on Play or Review.
