A Day in the Life of NyaFor 7 months out of the year, Nya walks twice a day to retrieve water from a pond. She starts early in the morning and arrives back home by noon. Then she begins her second trip to the pond and back. Nya says it will take nearly a full day of walking altogether. She walks between warring tribes and through lion country barefoot. Why is Nya chosen to fetch water instead of her brothers or one of her parents?
