Extreme Reader Model XR-10 Like all Extreme Reader models, the XR-10 enables users to convert printed text to audible speech.

The difference is that the XR-10 affords the user the opportunity to save numerous multi-page documents and retrieve their audible output with the push of a button.

The XR-10 has the greatest variety of navigation intervals to choose from. This enables the user to quickly get to the page they desire and/or direct focus onto a small selection of words from the scanned material.

Navigation intervals are: By File; by Page; by Line; by Word; and by Letter; (in both directions – forward AND rewind).

The XR-10 stores 20 Multi-page Volumes of reading material. Both Column Mode, to read standard material, and Tabular mode, to read Bills, are

basic features found in all Extreme Readers. Currency identification is standard on all Extreme Readers. In CD mode, Extreme Readers recognize whether the content of a CD is music, an

audio book, or a DAISY formatted book and use the proper reader/player software to execute the CD content.

The NEW MP3 Export Mode will create a audible Copy of all files in the Extreme Reader library and load them on our portable MPR Device (My Portable Reader) with the push of one button. Multiple MPR’s will work with one XR-10.

The NEW CD to MP3 Export Mode will convert the audio or music content of a CD to the MP3 format and load it on our portable MPR Device with the push of one button.

The Optional Embossing Mode on the XR-10 model of the Extreme Reader will translate the words on printed material into Braille and send the information to an embosser for creating a Braille copy.

All Extreme Readers are equipped with Active Sync so that scanned documents can be sent to partnered Notetakers, PDA’s or other such devices.

All Extreme Readers display scanned, CD or Floppy loaded text as magnified, high-contrast, reformatted words if the user connects to any computer monitor.

Text based files like: *.doc; *.txt; *.rtf; *.htm; *.html; and *.pdf can all be read from a floppy disk when inserted into any Extreme Reader model.

The XR-10 model is the flagship of the Extreme Reader family of products.

All Extreme Readers have the ability to convert to any other model at the customer’s location with minimal effort. This allows an Extreme Reader to be used to satisfy multiple needs at any one location or to adapt as the needs of an individual customer change.
