1. Tell me a bit about the company? When was it established, what's your main product, where do you operate and how many people are in the team?

JEKCA Limited is a Hong Kong based company set up a few years ago. We focus on creating innovative and elegant building blocks products with the brand JEKCA. We have our in-house design team, marketing team and production plant.

2. Whats your best-selling product?

That will be the brick sculptures of cats, dogs and animals at this moment.

3. Where did you get the idea from to make pets and artwork from plastic-bricks?

Please refer to the answer for question 4.

4. You don't use Lego, right? What's the main difference between Lego and your bricks?

Since the patent of LEGO expired decades ago, lots of building blocks products appeared in the market. But most of them are closely following the steps of LEGO and there is hardly any breakthrough. Our founder thought that he could do something more with building blocks and extend its possibilities. So he spent much time in inventing a new kind of building blocks with a new locking system and that becomes JEKCA bricks. We have got patents granted from different countries like USA, EU, China, Japan, Korea...etc, for the locking mechanism shown below.

The main highlight of JEKCA, is that we have screws to lock the bricks. This is very helpful for 3 reasons:

i. We can assemble a building block chair, table, bookshelf, remote control rack...etc. They are strong enough to perform their function well!

b. We can create complex structures like below. If you assemble them with other traditional building blocks, either you need to glue them together (which is troublesome and is a irreversible process) or they will collapse easily.

c. Since every bricks are tightly locked together, when you are still assembling the item, you do not need to worry that the unfinished item will suddenly collapsed.

5. If I order anything - is there an option for me to get it delivered already assembled?

Unfortunately at this moment we do not offer this service.

6. How much time does it take to assemble a cat?

It depends on how free you are. If you are free and concentrated, you can finish a cat in a day. Some customers would spend a week for that. The procedure is quite straightforward and all you need is time.

7. Do you consider your products toys or art?

We would say it is a fusion of toys and art. This kind of art should not only be displayed in the exhibitions and should not be the privilege of designers. We want to create some artistic "toys" or "sculptures", popularize them and so everyone can enjoy crafting these beautiful sculptures with ease.

8. How safe are your products for kids?

We have passed the safety tests of EN-71, CPSIA and ASTM F963-11. The materials used are ABS and POM which are very common plastics. Since there are small parts in our products, they are not suitable for kids under 3 years old.

9. Do you deliver world wide? Whats the shipping cost and how long would it take to be delivered?

Our online shop can deliver to over 34 countries and more will be on the list. The shipping cost depends on the weight of the items. The by-air option, usually taking 14 working days, will be more expensive. The by-ship option, usually taking 2 to 3 months, will be much cheaper.
