SPONSORSHIP PROSPECTUS
The focus of the 2020 State Conference is on the World Health Organization (WHO) Global Action Plan on Physical Activity 2018-2030 – Let’s Be Active. The Plan has four strategic objectives aimed at creating active societies, active environments, active people and active systems.
The conference aims at exploring how active forms of recreation can be taken in many different ways, all of which can provide health benefits if undertaken regularly and of sufficient duration and intensity. The recreation industry in South Australia offers a diverse range of recreational activities for people of different ages, interests, backgrounds and fitness levels. The conference offers a fantastic opportunity to explore ways in which these recreational activities can be promoted and supported by people actively working in all sectors of the recreation industry.
Keynote speakers will raise issues highly relevant to the aquatic, outdoor and community & facilities sectors in the recreation industry. Presenters at the interactive session streams will provide practical information and advice, and present opportunities to discover ways to improve the physical activity of all South Australians.
The conference session streams are designed to give opportunities for professionals in the industry to engage with like-minded and successful people working actively to promote physical activity in our community.
THREE SESSION STREAMS WILL BE OFFERED:
Aquatics: The opportunities for promoting physical activity through recreational aquatics programs, and raising awareness of safety around water through the Watch Around Water program.
Outdoor: The opportunities for promoting physical activity through recreational outdoor activities.
Community & Facilities: The opportunities for promoting physical activity through recreational activities offered in communities and facilities.
The special Awards of Excellence breakfast is held to celebrate the achievements of individuals and organisations making an outstanding contribution to the aquatics, outdoor recreation, and community and facilities sectors in the recreation industry.
The Awards of Excellence showcase the outstanding work of recreation professionals who deliver enormous benefit to our communities in promoting the benefits of physical activity.
The Awards Breakfast will be opened by the Honourable Corey Wingard MP, Member for Gibson and Minister for Recreation, Sport and Racing.
The Awards Breakfast will kick-start the Recreation SA 2020 Conference. It is an opportunity for delegates to be inspired by outstanding events, projects and high performing individuals in the recreational activity industry.
TWO AWARDS WILL BE PRESENTED: 2020 Recreation SA Person, Place or Program Award
