Time Zone Used Throughout the Order: Central Standard Time (T)

1. SITUATION. The Roadrunner Battalion organization is comprised of several programs giving Cadet’s the opportunity to experience realistic and tough training around the world. This lab will be key in briefing each of these programs in details.

(A) (U) Area of Interest: The University of Texas at San Antonio

(B) (U) Area of Operations: McKinney Humanities Building Room MH 2.01-12

(1) (U) Terrain: Indoors

(2) (U) Weather: High 93 Low 72 Mostly Sunny

2. MISSION. Roadrunner Battalion conducts the Battalion Mixer in the MH Building room 2.01-12 at 231415AUG2018 to inform Cadets about the special teams and programs our BN has to offer, while discussing the opportunities and experiences each one provides.

3. EXECUTION.

a. Commander’s Intent. Successfully inform Cadets on what the special teams/programs the Roadrunner Battalion has to offer and the expectations of the Battalion from the Cadet Chain of Command.

Key Task:

1. Maintain and uphold the timeline (Attachment 1)

2. Ensure that all special teams/programs representatives have a short, and well detailed brief about their respective team/program ready to be presented to the Battalion.

b. Purpose. To inform the Cadets about special teams/programs and understand the expectations within the BN.

c. End State. Roadrunner Battalion will leave with a better understanding of the special programs/teams that are offered in ROTC. They will leave with a better vision of the Roadrunner Battalion and expectations of their Cadet Chain of Command.

d. Concept of Operations. This operation is conducted in four phases.

Phase I: This phase starts with reservation of the lab site location. This phase will consist of the site recon, initial and final rehearsals. This phase ends with the arrival of the Cadets to the lab location.

Phase II: This phase starts with the arrival of Cadets at the lab location. This phase will consists of the introduction to the Cadre/Staff, introduction of the Cadet Chain of Command, a contracting ceremony, and quick brief of each special teams/programs in ROTC. This phase ends with the completion of the last brief.

Phase III: This phase starts with the completion of the last special teams/programs brief. This phase will consist of Command Teams briefing the Cadets in their companies and a clean-up of the site. This phase will end with the dismissal of the Cadets from the lab.

Phase IV: This phase starts with the dismissal of the Cadets from the lab and consist of an AAR. This phase will end with the completion of the AAR.

(1) (U) Scheme of Movement and Maneuver: This operation is conducted in 4 phases.

Phase I: Planning and Preparation: Ms. Gilbert reserved the site location during the summer as well as an initial recon of the site by NCOIC CDT Tran. CDT Tran will conduct another site recon NLT 140900AUG2018 IOT determine seating arrangement and any other supplies that might be needed for lab. All tasked Cadets conduct initial rehearsals in the MH Building room 2.01-12 from 211430AUG2018 to 211630AUG2018. The final OPORD will be disseminated NLT 221700AUG2018. Tasked Cadets will show up NLT 231315 AUG2018 in the war room for final rehearsals. At 231350AUG2018 task Cadets will transition from the war room prior to. At 231400AUG2018 tasked Cadets will move to MH Building room 2.01- 12. S-6 will also be there at that time in order to set up the computer and PowerPoint prior to arrival of Cadets. Cadets will start to arrive and be there NLT 231430AUG18.

Phase II: Lab Execution: The rest of the Cadets will arrive NLT 231430AUG18 and conduct accountability. During the lab, Cadets will be briefed by the PMS/SMI, each representative from each special teams/programs, and Cadet BN Chain of Command. Once briefings are complete the Company Chain of Command will brief their respective company about their specific expectations.

Phase III: Cleanup/Dismissal: The mixer will end NLT 231625AUG18 by the C/CSM Tran. There will be a quick clean up conducted afterwards by all of the Cadets. Once complete Cadets will be dismissed from lab NLT 231630AUG2018. Cadets will be allowed to socialize, ask questions, and visit the ROTC event tables after being dismissed.

Phase IV: AAR: An AAR will be conducted during the training meeting with the MS IVs the following Wednesday during the training meeting, and an official memorandum of the AAR will be sent to Cadet S-3 NLT 061700SEP18.

e. Unit Mission Support.

(1) ACO, BCO.

(a) Provide 2 names per Company for set up and tear down of the lab NLT 211700AUG2018.

f. Staff Mission Support.

(1) S1- Provide the accountability roster and maintain accountability thought-out the duration of the lab.

(2) S2-Provide story board NLT 72 hours after lab is completed

(3) S4- Provide any requested equipment for the lab NLT 231300AUG2018

(4) S6- Ensure computer and slideshows are up and running NLT 231405AUG2018. Also provide video/pictures slideshow to play before the lab NLT 211200AUG2018. Take photos during the lab and post on social media, and send to S2 for storyboard.

g. Coordinating Instructions.

a. Timeline:

1700 Publish OPORD to BN

21 AUG 2018

1430-1630 Conduct rehearsal with all briefers in MH Building room 2.01-12

23 AUG 2018

1315-1350 Final Rehearsal with tasked personnel in War Room

1350-1355 Movement of key tasked personnel and S-6 to MH Building Room 2.01-12

1415-1430 Doors open, Cadets arrive, and S-1 conducts accountability

1430-1625 Lab Execution (See attachment 1 for timeline)

1625-1630 Clean up and dismissal of Cadets

b. Uniform and Equipment: ACUs / appropriate civilian attire. Cadets will have pen and paper.

4. SUSTAINMENT.

a. Logistics: American Flag, Texas Flag, and BN colors with stands. CLS bag

b. Healthy Support System: Medical Emergency and Non-emergency Evacuation:

Emergencies: Direct immediately to Lab NCOIC and Cadre for assessment.

Non-Emergencies: Contracted Cadets are taken to Brooke Army Medical Center, via GSA van or Cadre POV. Non-contracted Cadets are taken to the UTSA Health Services Center (RWC 1.500). Phone #: 210-458-4142, or to Methodist

MC: At this time, please rise as the following Cadets… will be sworn-in by Major Shifrin by repeating the Oath of Enlistment. The Oath of Enlistment is something that every service member must promise and adhere to for his/her entire military career. From the Oath, you can see that the Cadets will be defending the Constitution - not a person.
