P4 Numeracy Learning Grid – Choose an activity from the grid to complete each day. Colour the box once you have completed the activity. Try your best and do what you can! For some of the activities, the numbers can be changed to suit your ability.

Find the missing numbers:

3 x ___ = 15 4 x ____ = 36

___ x 12 = 48 ____ x 8 = 24

___ x 11 = 55 ____ x 6 = 30

Focus:

2 x ____ = 20 5 x _____ = 25

____ x 5 = 10 ____ x 3 = 12

____ x 10 = 60 ____ x 2 = 18

Estimation

· Estimate how tall each person is in your household in cm?

· Estimate how long it would take to do 30 star jumps in seconds.

· Check your estimates with a measuring tape and timer (if you have them). How close were you to the real measurement?

*Challenge*

Can you change the measurements from cm to mm and seconds into minutes?

Word Problems (remember to help you highlight the important parts of the question)

· If the shop had 79 bananas on the shelf and the customers bought 46. How many did the shop have left?

· Joey had 100 marbles, Julie had 36 marbles and Jack had 52 marbles. How many marbles did they have altogether?

· If there were 10 people in each carriage on the train and there were 12 carriages. How many people were there altogether?

How many different ways can you make the number 63?

You can use adding, take away, multiplication and dividing.

Can you create a word problem to give 63 as an answer?

*Challenge*

Can you use a sum that has four parts?

Example: 10 + 10 + 20 + 23 = 63

Focus: How many ways can you make the number 36?

Can you make all the numbers from 1 to 20 using only:

1 2 3 4 5

You can only use the number once and you can’t join two numbers together (e.g. 15 is not allowed).

You can use adding, take away, multiplication and division.

How many did you manage to use multiplication for?

*Challenge*

Can you continue and make the numbers up to 50?

Time

Can you draw the following times on an analogue clock and write the digital time next to it?

· Twenty-five past seven

· Quarter to eleven

· Half past ten

· Quarter past three

· Ten past one

· Twenty to twelve

Focus: Can you draw the following times?

· Three o’clock

· Half past seven

· Quarter past eight

Can you design a poster for your peers to help them with their multiplication facts?

You can choose any times table you like or you can do more than one!

Remember a poster needs:

· To be bold and eye catching

· Have a title

· Be able to be read from a distance

2D Shapes

How many shapes can you find around your house?

Could you create a tally graph and tally up how many different shapes you can find?

Example:

Wanted!

Create a wanted poster for your groups given number.

Focus – 76

Challenge - 1776

Core - 676

Remember to include 5 facts about your number!

Sumdog

Your teacher has set up a challenge for you on Sumdog.

Can you spend some time answering the questions and earning coins?

Good Luck!

A new teacher challenge will be posted every Monday of each week.

Area of Shapes

Draw each shape that has the following area.

1. 15cm²

2. 25cm²

3. 9 cm²

4. 30 cm²

5. 10 cm²

Focus:

Draw a shape which has 10 boxes.

Draw a shape which has 8 boxes.

Draw a shape which has 15 boxes.

Hit the Button!

Follow the link: https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-the-button

Choose a number game to practice. Try to answer as many questions before the timer runs out. Remember to challenge yourself by choosing trickier number challenges! You can do it 😊 Play three different games and record your score. Add up your scores and find your total! You could even challenge someone at home.

We will be posting number of the day activities on our twitter. You will be able to access the accounts without having an account yourself. Head to the twitter homepage and search our twitter handles. P4A can check on @MissAllan4a and P4B can check on @MissGilhooley1

We would love to see your work and activities you have completed too so you can tweet us back!

You can access more revision on topmarks.com and there is also a new Sumdog Challenge starting on the 15th – Good Luck!
