Processional Hymn 26Immortal, invisible, God only wise, in light inaccessible hid from our eyes, most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of days, almighty, victorious, thy great name we praise.

Unresting, unhasting, and silent as light, nor wanting, nor wasting, thou rulest in might; thy justice like mountains high soaring above thy clouds which are fountains of goodness and love.

To all life thou givest, to both great and small; in all life thou livest, the true life of all; we blossom and flourish as leaves on the tree, and wither and perish - but nought changeth thee.

Great Father of glory, pure Father of light, thine angels adore thee, all veiling their sight; all laud we would

render: O help us to see 'tis only the splendour of light hideth thee.

Sermon: The Rev. Doug Willoughby

The Apostles' Creed: (said together, standing)I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead.I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Offertory Hymn: Freely, FreelyGod forgave my sin in Jesus’ name. I’ve been born anew in Jesus’ name, and in Jesus’ name I come to you to share his love as he told me to.

CHORUS: He said, “Freely, freely, you have received. Freely, freely give. Go in my name and because you believe, others will know that I live.”

All power is given in Jesus’ name. In earth and heaven in Jesus’ name; and in Jesus’ name I come to you, to share his power as he told me to…CHORUS[Carol Owerns, c.1972, Bud John Songs; by permission CCLI #459447]

Where streams of living water flow my ransomed soul he leadeth, and where the verdant pastures grow with food celestial feedeth.

Perverse and foolish oft I strayed, but yet in love he sought me, and on his shoulder gently laid, and home rejoicing brought me.

In death's dark vale I fear no ill with thee, dear Lord, beside me; thy rod and staff my comfort still, thy cross before to guide me.

Though spread'st a table in my sight; thy unction grace bestoweth; and O what transport of delight from thy pure chalice floweth!

And so through all the length of days thy goodness faileth never: good shepherd, may I sing thy praise within thy house for ever!

Faithful OneFaithful one so unchanging, ageless one, you're my rock of peace, Lord of all I depend on you. I call out to you again and again; I call out to you again and again.

You are my rock in times of trouble; you lift me up when I fall down. All through the storm your love is the anchor; my hope is in you alone. [Brian Doerksen, c. 1989, Mercy/Vinyard Publishing; by permission CCLI #459447]

Hymn 114 - What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear! What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer! O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear, all because we do not carry everything to God in prayer!

Have we trials or temptations? Is there trouble anywhere? We should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer. Can we find a friend so faithful, who will all our sorrows share? Jesus knows our every weakness; take it to the Lord in prayer.

Are we weak and heavy-laden, cumbered with a load of care? Christ the Saviour is our refuge; take it to the Lord in prayer. Do our friends despise, forsake us? Are we tempted to despair? Jesus' strength will shield our weakness, and we'll find new courage there.

Jude BenedictionNow unto Him Who is able to keep, able to keep you from falling, and present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy. To the only wise God, our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever, A-a-men.

Prayer After Communion:Leader: O God, may we who have shared in holy things never fail to serve you in your world, and so come to the

fullness of joy, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

People: Glory to God, whose power, working in us, can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine. Glory to God from generation to generation, in the Church and in Christ Jesus, for ever and ever. Amen.

The Blessing (followed by sung “Amen”)

Recessional Hymn 565 (Common Praise)Guide me, O thou great Jehovah, pilgrim through this barren land. I am weak, but thou art mighty; hold me with thy powerful hand. Bread of heaven, bread of heaven, feed me till I want no more, feed me till I want no more.

Open now the crystal fountain whence the healing stream doth flow; let the fire and cloudy pillar lead me all my journey through. Strong deliverer, strong deliverer, be thou still my strength and shield, be thou still my strength and shield.

When I tread the verge of Jordan, bid my anxious fears subside; death of death, and hell's destruction, land me safe on Canaan's side: songs of praises, songs of praises, I will ever give to thee, I will ever give to thee.

Dismissal:Leader: Go forth into the world, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit. People: Thanks be to God.
