V8 Supercars Hot Laps

For my birthday my brother bought me tickets to go ride in a V8 Supercar at Calder Park Race Track. Riding in a V8 Supercar was on my bucket list something I wanted to do, so I was very happy that my brother got me the tickets as a present.

We drove to Calder Park, when we got there we saw all the V8 Supercars going around the track and they were very loud. To check in we had to sign some forms and my heart was beating with excitement. I had to put on a safety suit and took a photo next to a car. We then proceeded to the garage and pit stop and waited in line for my turn to get into a car. A man then called my ticket number and I was given a hair net and helmet to wear. The helmet was a perfect fit and it was finally time for me to get into a V8 Supercar.

The car was a silver Holden Monaro. To get in the car I had to jump in and swing my big bum around so that I could get in the seat. The man helped me put on my harness so that I don’t go sliding around while going around the track.

The driver said - Here We Go! When he took off the car was fast and loud. The first turn was right and it was sharp and fast, he then got to 220Ks on the straight and back to the start. We did three laps, my face left heavy from the pressure and speed I was a bit scared and in shock, I didn’t know it was going to be so fast. I wanted to do this because I love cars and if I was able to drive I would have love driving a fast car like this one. After completing the laps I got out of the car, took off the helmet and my mum asked - Are you ok! She said that my face showed fear on it, but in truth I was just excited and the adrenaline was still pumping through my body. I took off the suit, and the funny part it took me a while to get it off.

We headed back to our car and went home. I took a lot of photos and videos and was able to send them straight away to my friends. They were all really impressed and were happy for me for doing it.
