WebFOCUS

The following are known issues that apply to all WebFOCUS products:

When accessing the Help About menu option in WebFOCUS, WebSphere® 8.5.5 displays asWebSphere 8.0. This is a WebSphere bug which is scheduled to be corrected in WebSphere8.5.5.1.

When using Internet Explorer® 8 and earlier, you may not be able to open a Microsoft® Office®

or PDF document when the server sends a Cache-control:no-cache or Cache-control:no-storeheader. This will impact reports created from WebFOCUS with formats such as Excel® 2007,PowerPoint®, and PDF. Internet Explorer 9 and other browsers, such as Firefox® and Chrome™,do not have this issue.

The following Microsoft Knowledge Base articles provide additional information and availableresolutions.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/323308

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/316431

As of WebFOCUS Reporting Server Release 7.7 Version 06, you will be able to modify aninteger format through the display format to insert decimal points within the defined wholenumber in format EXL07/XLSX. For example, F1/I8.2 = 1234.50 will display as 1234.50.

As of WebFOCUS Reporting Server Release 7.7 Version 06, field values defined as integerswill be placed in XLSX workbook cells as numeric values with display masks, rather than withthe Excel general format.

Browser

The following is a known issue with browser support:

Browsers running in Standards Mode displaying output in an iframe will not display XML. Whenrunning a WebFOCUS request with PCHOLD FORMAT XML, select the Run in new Windowoption to display the result in a new window. This may be an issue for the following WebFOCUSfeatures:

Autoprompt page (select Run in new Window option)

BI Portal

HTML page created with HTML Composer

Installation and Configuration

The following are known issues in installation and configuration of WebFOCUS:

WebFOCUS Release 8.0 Version 01 and Release 8.0 Version 02 shipped with isapi_redirect.dllversion 1.2.25 or earlier. This was known to change the spelling of HTTP headers, whichcaused support problems when configuring WebFOCUS 8 for pre-authentication with an HTTPheader. Newer versions of WebFOCUS 8 include version 1.3.37. This has fixed the problem, but the installer does not upgrade the connector, so the older version must be uninstalled toavoid the problem.

The Windows program menu shortcut for Start Distribution Server and Stop Distribution Serverhave the Run As Administrator option enabled, by default. On some Windows machines, forexample Windows Server 2012 R2, running the shortcut ignores the Start in location andinstead runs in c:\Windows\System32. This produces an error.

When configuring WebFOCUS Release 8.0 Version 04 and higher with WebLogic®, you mustperform the following post-installation step.

You must create a new file called weblogic.xml in the WEB-INF directory for the WebFOCUSweb application. It must contain the following information:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <wls:weblogic-web-app xmlns:wls="http://xmlns.oracle.com/weblogic/weblogic-web-app" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee/ejb-jar_3_0.xsd http://xmlns.oracle.com/weblogic/weblogic-web-app

http://xmlns.oracle.com/weblogic/weblogic-web-app/1.4/weblogic-web-app.xsd"><wls:container-descriptor><wls:prefer-application-packages><wls:package-name>org.eclipse.persistence</wls:package-name></wls:prefer-application-packages></wls:container-descriptor></wls:weblogic-web-app>

Once the file is saved, you must recreate the .war file by adding it to webfocus.war. The .warfile can be renamed based on your naming convention, and then redeployed.

On some 64-bit Windows machines, the Derby service for WebFOCUS 8, with a 32-bit Javaconfiguration (version 1.7x), fails to start.

As a workaround:

1. Copy msvcr100.dll from <JAVA_HOME>(32 bit)\bin to <DERBY_HOME>\bin.

2. Start Derby.

3. Manually create the repository tables.

4. Start the Distribution Server.

WebFOCUS Release 8.0 Version 09 is packaged with a newer version of thejackson-all-1.9.11.jar file, which includes updated classes. To avoid conflicts with the currentversion of jackson-all-1.9.11.jar that is included and used by IBM WebSphere ApplicationServer Version 8.0 and 8.5, you must define a container-wide shared library that can be usedby deployed WebFOCUS applications. For more information, see the WebFOCUS UpgradeConsiderations manual.

When installing on iSeries, an incorrect value for the IBI_Repos_DB_URL parameter is writtento the webconfig.xml file. The correct value is:

<parm-name>IBI_Repos_DB_URL</parm-name><param-value>jdbc:as400://{system_name}/{db_name} </param-value>

where:

system_name

Is the system hosting the database.

db_name

Is the database used for the WebFOCUS repository.

Migration

The following are known issues when migrating to WebFOCUS 8:

Deferred Status and InfoMini are not compatible. The ability to run InfoMini deferred has beenremoved from the software.

During export, blank characters in user IDs are changed to underscore characters.

8 WebFOCUS

Migration

Page 9: WebFOCUS Release Notes Release 8.0 Version 10infocenter.informationbuilders.com/wf80/topic/...WebFOCUS Release 8.0 Version 09 is packaged with a newer version of the jackson-all-1.9.11.jar

WebFOCUS Security

The following are known issues in WebFOCUS security:

The Managed Reporting used user license count is incorrectly including users that are onlyauthorized to use ReportCaster functionality. ReportCaster only users can only create schedulesand view Library reports. They cannot interactively run or create content within the WebFOCUSrepository Content folder path.

The WF_Role_MRGrpAuthMgr, WF_Role_MRNoPrivs, and WF_Role_MRSecObjMgr PermissionSets are not fully implemented.

Full View context menus are not fully implemented, and certain functionality will not work usingthat view, such as creating folders under the root WebFOCUS node and other context menufunctionality.

InfoAssist

The following are known issues in InfoAssist:

When editing and saving a dashboard that has an inserted report and the User Selectionformat option enabled, InfoAssist changes the format from AHTML to PDF and disables theUser Selection option. The dashboard can be edited to return the original settings, but therun-time User Selection drop-down list will contain all formats instead of just the active formats.

If you add an ampersand (&) in front of a parameter name when creating a filter in the AdvancedFilter dialog box and the parameter description is subsequently removed, InfoAssistautomatically populates a parameter description using the parameter name. This results inthe addition of an unsupported ampersand as part of the parameter description.

When the default Record Limit selection is changed in InfoAssist User Preferences, theselection is not maintained when creating a Document or a Dashboard. This is not an issuewith InfoAssist Report or Chart mode.

If you expand the Output File Format drop-down on the InfoAssist Home tab and selectPowerPoint, the output format is set to HTML, by default. This occurs when the PowerPoint2000 format option is disabled in InfoAssist Global Preferences. InfoAssist inadvertentlydisplays PowerPoint as an option, and selecting it automatically reverts the selection to HTML.The same occurs with Excel.

When creating an InfoAssist chart using a format other than HTML5 (default), adding anannotation may result in a blank canvas. This issue is intermittent.

Page 10: WebFOCUS Release Notes Release 8.0 Version 10infocenter.informationbuilders.com/wf80/topic/...WebFOCUS Release 8.0 Version 09 is packaged with a newer version of the jackson-all-1.9.11.jar

When working with multiple reports, one of which contains a join, the join in the first file isnot preserved when switching to another report. The Data Panel will display only the fieldsfrom the target HOLD file.

When using the chart functionality of InfoAssist in App Studio, you may incur an incorrectasterisk notation upon opening an existing procedure.

When working with a report that contains links that drill down to another webpage, as specifiedusing the Hyperlink functionality, a blank canvas may result if you specify to execute thehyperlink in the same window. If you indicate that the hyperlink should open in a new window,by default, a new browser window opens and the webpage loads upon clicking the link.

Promoting a chart with the Refresh BI Portal drilldown option to Document mode with HTMLoutput format will yield errors.

The Refresh BI Portal feature is available in InfoAssist for all formats. At run time, the drilldownwill not be functional for PDF, PPT, Excel 2000, and Excel 2007 formats. In this case, youmay get an error or the drilldown will be ignored.

When converting a report in HTML format to a chart in InfoAssist, the output format defaultsto HTML, rather than HTML5.

When creating a chart using the HTML5 output format, the File option is enabled. If a Holdfile is created, the chart is restored as HTML. In some cases, the chart type may revert tothe default vertical bar chart.

For Lightweight Mapping, the values that display in the Geographic Role drop-down list boxare technical names. These values will be modified in a subsequent release.

When creating multiple maps in the same InfoAssist session, the Map dialog box may retainselections from prior requests.

The Maps feature is not available in Internet Explorer 8.

When creating a map using Areas 2x2 or Areas 1x4 views, the Location bucket is not displayed.

When using the Lightweight Mapping functionality, the color scale option is only available forChoropleth maps. For Proportional Symbol maps, the color scale option is disabled.

In Release 8.0 Version 05 and higher, maps are supported in stand-alone Chart mode only. When promoting a map from Chart mode to Document or Dashboard mode, InfoAssist willchange the chart type to a vertical bar chart. The same process will occur when you insert anexisting map procedure into a document.

10 WebFOCUS

InfoAssist

Page 11: WebFOCUS Release Notes Release 8.0 Version 10infocenter.informationbuilders.com/wf80/topic/...WebFOCUS Release 8.0 Version 09 is packaged with a newer version of the jackson-all-1.9.11.jar

When selecting a Document Theme, you have the option to select one that is external toInfoAssist. In this case, it is recommended that you select a file without any blank spaces. If the name of the file contains a blank, the server will crash. You will receive the followingexception error: IBFSException 32037.

If you are using a Master File that contains WITHIN attributes and creating a Define field, theDefine field is duplicated.

The insertion cursor and the mouse pointer are not synchronized in the Header & Footer dialogbox. For example, when you try to insert a field after text, the field appears before the textinstead.

When using the Google™ Chrome 23 browser with the Adobe® PDF Viewer plug-in to viewreports or charts, you are unable to save the report or chart, or exit InfoAssist. This is a knownissue that does not have a fix, except to use the Chrome built-in viewer or to run the outputin a new browser.

To see which viewer you are using, go to the Chrome Plug-ins page by typing chrome:pluginsin the Chrome navigation bar. On the Plug-ins page, you can enable and disable viewer plug-ins.

When converting an InfoMini report to a chart, the InfoMini menu options are not retained orsaved after the conversion.

If the global preference for the default style sheet is pointing to a non-existing .sty file andAllow user override is not checked, InfoAssist returns a Null pointer exception, followed by anUnrecoverable error message, when attempting to launch InfoAssist.

When creating a compound layout in the Document Composer tool with AHTML format andflowing is set, the reports overlap each other.

When using a multi-fact database with shared and non-shared dimensions, fields selectedon the canvas are not mapped correctly to the Field tab on the ribbon.

When Enable Pages On Demand is set in the Global Preferences and a Query in Documentmode is added with an active report format, the Pages On Demand icon is available, but notenabled.

The Master File view does not show all fields in the Join and Fields Mapping dialog boxes.

A HOLD file with a default name of File1 cannot be created if the name already exists in anyother application.

WebFOCUS Release Notes 11

WebFOCUS Release Notes Release 8.0 Version 10

Page 12: WebFOCUS Release Notes Release 8.0 Version 10infocenter.informationbuilders.com/wf80/topic/...WebFOCUS Release 8.0 Version 09 is packaged with a newer version of the jackson-all-1.9.11.jar

Creating a Define with an ampersand (&) and a qualified field name in an expression, andremoving the space between the ampersand and field name, returns an unrecoverable errorwhen you click OK.

When you restore a document with Join only, the Join is removed and the original file doesnot appear in Fields list. The Target file used in the Join appears in the Fields list instead.

In InfoAssist, opening a Developer Studio Document Composer procedure that containsunsupported syntax returns a Save prompt if the user chooses to exit.

In Document mode, when executing a blank report, the following error message appears:

This file cannot be opened because it has no pages. A blank report could be generated inDocument mode after creating a HOLD file and not adding any fields.

Reports created from a HOLD file do not have a Preview option on the right-click menu.

In the Filter dialog box, the Fetch Values From Disk File option in the Values drop-down menuis not supported for spreadsheets saved in Excel 2007 format.

When working in InfoAssist Basic, if you select any OLAP options from the Auto Drill & Analysisdrop-down and then execute the request, OLAP options will not display at run time. This isbecause the Managed Reporting property Run with OLAP is not set by InfoAssist Basic. Toenable OLAP options, right-click the saved report in the content tree and select Properties.Next, select the Run with OLAP check box at the bottom of the Properties window.

There can be a disconnect between the chart frame size and font sizes seen in InfoAssistpreview and the actual AHTML chart that is generated. This may result in the AHTML chartnot having enough space to actually draw the chart frame.

The workaround is to use the Font editing GUI in InfoAssist to choose smaller fonts for thechart axis titles and labels. The font sizes available in the UI have been decreased to 4 pt.

When using Firefox 3.6.25, if you create a new report, chart, or document from the last folderon the content tree in the Business Intelligence Portal and try to save the report in InfoAssist, you will notice that the content tree and the folders are absent from the Save dialog box.

When using the Join dialog box, if you create a join and try to expand the lower table by clickingand dragging the bottom-right corner of the table, the scroll bars will disappear and the draggedtable will be illegible.

When working with a report, if you select Description from the Data Panel group and thenswitch to Document view, the Data Panel will revert back to Title, which is correct. However, the drop-down menu will still continue to show that Description is selected, which is incorrect.

InfoAssist Chart Mode

The following are known issues in WebFOCUS InfoAssist chart mode:

When Drilldown is set to Target Same window, you will receive a message that the contentcannot be displayed in a frame. This occurs inside InfoAssist when the output destination isset to Default Single Tab or New Tab. This does not occur outside InfoAssist with Singlewindow or New window.

Restoring a procedure with PDF/GIF format, when PDF/GIF is hidden, produces HTML outputformat.

Interpolation of line charts in 2.5D mode is not supported. Interpolation of line charts in 2Dmode is supported. Line charts are drawn with dotted lines in 2D mode.

App Studio

The following are known issues in App Studio:

The Impact Analysis option, accessed from the Content node shortcut menu, is enabled. Thisoption should be disabled and will be available in a future release.

In the Document canvas, when importing an existing PPTX formatted report, a preview of thatreport will not display. This also occurs when a PPTX formatted report is converted to adocument, while on the Report canvas, using the Compound Document command.

When inserting a grid in the HTML canvas, and populating it with fields, you will receive thefollowing run-time error: 'ib_composer_grid' is undefined. Grid insertion will be available in afuture release.

In the Chart canvas, when running an active report or chart with the output set to Single Tabor New Tab, you will receive the following run-time error: Object doesn't support property ormethod 'getContext'. Other output formats do not trigger the error. This restriction will beremoved in a future release.

Developer Studio

The following are known issues in Developer Studio:

Accessing WebFOCUS in Internet Explorer and Developer Studio using Internet Explorer fromthe same machine, simultaneously, results in session conflicts. Connections to WebFOCUSor Developer Studio will be invalidated when you switch between the two clients.

If you need to connect to the Business Intelligence Portal at the same time that you connectto Developer Studio, you can do one of the following:

Connect to WebFOCUS using a different web browser that is not Internet Explorer.

Use the default, Developer Studio Output Viewer.

In the Content area of a remote WebFOCUS Environment, if you create a graph with an optionalparameter, you must clear the Prompt for Parameters option in the New Procedure dialog box.If you do not clear the Prompt for Parameters option, you will be prompted, at run time, toselect the optional parameter. The Prompt for Parameters option is selected by default.

While in the Synonym Editor, dragging a segment onto a group causes Developer Studio toclose.

In HTML Composer, when an Infowindow is opened using a Google Maps API 3 map and themap control does not fill the entire width of the HTML page, the Infowindow close button isnot visible.

When using Impact Analysis in the Repository area, and attempting to add more folders inthe Search Paths section of the Impact Analysis tool, you are unable to multi-select foldersin the Browse For Folder dialog box.

When using a Release 7.7 Version 05 Reporting Server with Developer Studio 8, icons arenot being displayed in the context menu when Synonym Editor is invoked (for example, infields, segments, and so on). They display in the Data Management Console.

After saving changes for a Master File or a procedure in Local Projects, the file size displaysas 0 (zero), until you do a Refresh.

ReportCaster

The following are known issues in ReportCaster:

If you run a duplicated schedule, an error will result. This does not happen when running acopied schedule.

To enable Distribution Server traces without turning on Job Traces, modify the Distributionstart up command with -DRC_SYS_LOGGING=true after the java command.

With Unicode characters in a Zip file name, the file names are corrupted after you decompressa .zip file in Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2. This problem is fixed in Release 8.1Version 03 and requires the following hotfix from Microsoft:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2704299/en-us

ReportCaster

Page 15: WebFOCUS Release Notes Release 8.0 Version 10infocenter.informationbuilders.com/wf80/topic/...WebFOCUS Release 8.0 Version 09 is packaged with a newer version of the jackson-all-1.9.11.jar

When creating a ReportCaster schedule using the COMT format, you must check the Overridethe Format Specified in the Procedure check box and select the COMT format. Otherwise, theoutput may lose the CR/LF (Carriage Return / Line Feed) when producing the .csv file.

In WebFOCUS 8, you do not need to specify the format in the schedule. However, there is aknown issue with this feature. If the scheduled report is a compound report that uses thestabilized SET COMPOUND OPEN syntax, you must select the Override the Format Specifiedin the Procedure check box and specify the format in the schedule when scheduling this report.Otherwise, the report will not be distributed. Compound reports produced by the WebFOCUSand Developer Studio reporting tools (for example, InfoAssist and Document Composer) donot require that the Override the Format Specified in the Procedure checkbox be checked.

A published schedule runs as the creator of the schedule. A user that is allowed to edit apublished schedule may make a change to the schedule that the creator of the schedule isnot permitted to make. In this case, the schedule will fail at run time. For example, a usermay change the Distribution List or Access List used in the schedule to a private DistributionList or Access List that is not available to the creator of the schedule. When the changedschedule runs, it will fail due to inability of the creator to retrieve the Distribution List or AccessList from the WebFOCUS Repository.

When a user schedules a report to the Library with Library Email notification, an email is sentwith a link to the Library report. When the user clicks on this link, they are prompted to signin to WebFOCUS. If the Anonymous User has Library privileges, the user clicking the link inthe Library Email notification will receive a 401 error message, instead of being prompted tosign in. Remove the Library privilege from the Anonymous user to have the WebFOCUS sign-inpage display when users click the Library Email notification link.

When running a schedule through the Servlet API, you must supply a schedule ID, instead ofa schedule description.

When using DSTRUN in WebFOCUS Release 8, as in earlier releases, you can supply eitherthe schedule description or the schedule ID.

For a migrated schedule:

You can use the description or the schedule ID.

For a new schedule:

You should use the full IBFS path and file name, instead of the schedule description.

You can use the Schedule ID, provided that it matches the IBFS ID. If the IDs are notthe same, you can use the IBFS ID. The IBFS ID can be found by right-clicking theSchedule and selecting View Log. The empty log is shown in the following image.

Maps can be distributed to the Library and Managed Reporting only. Maps distributed by Emailor FTP do not open correctly.

When you distribute a file by FTP using GZIP and you do not supply a file name for thecompressed file, the default file name is used. However, the schedule log message containsan incorrect file name. This does not happen if you specify a name for the compressed file.

When a chart is scheduled in HTML format and is burst, ReportCaster generates an extrablank report, in addition to the report for each burst value.

In WebFOCUS 8, the legacy ReportCaster API uses the ReportCaster and Library Contentfolders that are created by the migration process. If you have not migrated content toWebFOCUS 8 from an earlier release of WebFOCUS, you must manually create the ReportCasterfolder in order to use the legacy ReportCaster API to create a schedule, unless you specifythe full IBFS path in the Schedule description. The ReportCaster folder must be created withthe Auto Create My Content Folders property set. The Library Content folder(s) created bymigration are the default destinations for Library output from scheduled Managed Reportingprocedures and Reporting Server procedures. These folders must exist unless a full IBFS pathis specified as the destination for Library output at schedule creation time.

Certain security authorizations that are respected by the GUI tool are not applied toReportCaster API programs. Users can create some objects (Access Lists, Distribution Lists, and Schedules) in a folder where they are allowed to create new items.

When using Mozilla® Firefox, if you select Save in the ReportCaster Console and then selectthe Prevent this page from creating additional dialogs check box within the Please ensure thatyou restart the Distribution Server message dialog box, this will result in subsequent attemptsto save changes by displaying a message informing you that the save request failed to execute. To recover from this error, close and reopen the ReportCaster Console. When you saveconfiguration changes, do not select the Prevent this page from creating additional dialogscheck box.

End User Scheduling Tool

The following is a known issue in the ReportCaster End User Scheduling tool:

When using the Recurrences ribbon, the non-visual user is not able to return to the tool afterpressing the Spacebar key or the OK button. Although the tool does not close, non-visualusers believe that they were sent back to the tree.

Library Reports

The following are known issues in Library reports:

When you double-click an On-demand Paging Library report in the BI Portal tree, the reportappears, but is missing the Web Viewer control bar at the bottom. Select the View option toview the report. ReportCaster Explorer displays report in the View pane.

When viewing an On-demand Paging report from the Library Versions View Pane, the WebViewer control bar is not fully visible and displays with a vertical scroll control. The workaroundis to view the On-demand Paging report in a new window by selecting the Open option fromthe toolbar or the context menu for the selected Library report, as shown in the followingimage.

Report expiration is not working for all expiration types.

Business Intelligence Dashboard

The following are known issues in the Business Intelligence Dashboard:

Maximizing an Output or Launch block with a URL report yields a script error and does notmaximize.

A user with the Dashboard Change Management privilege can manage all Dashboard resources, not just resources pertaining to a group on which the privilege is set.

A user with the Dashboard User Management privilege can manage user views for all registeredusers, not just users pertaining to a group on which the privilege is set.

Top-level folders or tree items on the root cannot be added to Dashboard content blocks.Subfolders and their tree items can be added.

Group Views can only be created from top-level groups.

The top-level folder items display in red on the Content List when editing a block.

Renaming a Group Name from the Security Center that is associated with a Group View willcause the view to be inaccessible. If a Group Name is renamed, a Group View associatedwith that group will not display in the list of Group Views in Dashboard or View Builder. GroupViews can only be created from top-level groups.

Closing the Business Intelligence Portal or Business Intelligence Dashboard using a logoff orwindow while InfoAssist is open, will also close InfoAssist. Changes made in InfoAssist arenot automatically saved.

Switching between Dashboard pages yields a script error if the Favorites block content on theinitial page does not load to completion. Refreshing the favorites block will display the content.

A migrated Library Only user signs into the Group View instead of the Library View.

WebFOCUS Visual Discovery

The following are known issues in WebFOCUS Visual Discovery (Thick Client):

In WebFOCUS 8, HTML Composer does not support opening VisDis.htm files developed priorto WebFOCUS 8. Visual Discovery 7.x applications are supported with WebFOCUS 8 for runtime.

Selecting the Average of Weights for the Size is option of a Bar or Line chart may cause abrowser crash or make the chart unselectable at run time.

Visual Discovery is not supported with Windows 8. It is supported with Internet Explorer 10browsers for run time only.

When using Internet Explorer 9 or Internet Explorer 10, selecting Save Image for a chart atrun time causes Visual Discovery to crash. The Copy Image option can be used to provide achart image to a PowerPoint, Excel, or Word file.

Thin Client is not supported.

In the Visual Discovery tutorial, the Vzdashboard procedure must be updated to use multi-selectWHERE statements in order to accurately reflect the parameter values selected from the threecharts.

Make a backup copy of the Vzdashboard.fex file and comment out the following lines:

WHERE (PRODUCTTYPE EQ '&PRODUCTTYPE');WHERE (STORENAME EQ '&STORENAME');WHERE (REGION EQ '&REGION');

Add the following multiselect WHERE statements:

WHERE PRODUCTTYPE EQ &PRODUCTTYPE.(OR(FIND PRODUCTTYPE IN CENTURYSALES)).;WHERE STORENAME EQ &STORENAME.(OR(FIND STORENAME IN CENTURYSALES)).;WHERE REGION EQ &REGION.(OR(FIND REGION IN CENTURYSALES)).;

When using Visual Discovery dashboards in a VMWare image, the following errors may occur:

Multi-scape charts, with the 3-D Surface setting, can cause Internet Explorer run-timeerrors.

Dragging Parabox controls to the bottom of an HTML page may display the chart in black.

Business Intelligence Portal

The following are known issues in the Business Intelligence Portal:

Certain characters, such as a percent sign (%), are not allowed with Siteminder when usingthe default configuration for a GET request.

In Firefox Versions 9 through 20, when you open a Business Intelligence Portal in run mode, add a page, and attempt to name the page by right-clicking the page and selecting Rename, you cannot place the cursor in the box containing the page name to do so.

In both Design and Run mode, when you click inside a portal page and select the Layoutoption, the number of columns selected does not reflect the actual page layout.

On the Business Intelligence Portal sign-in page, NLS characters are not supported in thepassword.

You are unable to view an uploaded Microsoft Word processing document with a file nameextension of .doc. In order to view the document, the WebFOCUS Client Redirection settingsfor .doc must be changed from ASCII to binary. However, WebFOCUS reports with PCHOLDFORMAT DOC will not render correctly with .doc redirection settings set to binary.

While in the Business Intelligence Portal Design mode, the Hover Menu Bar border does notautomatically resize as in the Normal State when the Menu Bar item font size or border widthis increased. Therefore, the menu bar items may be truncated or not visible. It is recommendedthat the Hover Menu Bar item font size and border width match those of the Normal State.

Active Technologies

The following are known issues in Active Technologies:

Drill down and conditional styling are not fully supported in Active Technologies for Adobe®

Flash® Player (FLEX output format) and for PDF (APDF output format).

Dual-axis charts are not supported at run time by the Active Technologies output formats. Forexample, the numbering scale for one of the axes on a dual-axis chart may become invalidas you manipulate the chart. It is recommended that you avoid the use of dual-axis charts.

20 WebFOCUS

When using the active Flash output format, for double-byte characters (for example, Japaneseand Chinese), the only font supported is Arial Unicode MS (UTF-8 configuration). Style sheetsmust use this font in order to display double-byte characters correctly.

The menu in an Active Technologies report for PDF always opens on the right side of thescreen, instead of dynamically switching to the left side when there is not enough width onthe right. The positioning of the menu is the result of a known issue in the Adobe® Flex® SDK.As a workaround, a horizontal scroll bar is added at the bottom of an Active Technologiesreport in APDF format so that you can access the menu in the rightmost column.

The following mobile and tablet device support applies:

Active Technologies for Adobe Flash Player and for PDF are not supported on Apple®

iOS-based devices or Android™ devices.

Active Technologies charts that use the Flash chart engine for connected mode(ARGRAPHENGINE=FUSION) are not supported on Android devices.

Active Technologies charts that use the WebFOCUS HTML5 chart engine(ARGRAPHENGINE=JSCHART) are not supported on Android devices with OS version 3.0or lower.

In Active Technologies for mobile on Android devices, you cannot select the chart typewhen using the WebFOCUS HTML5 chart engine (ARGRAPHENGINE=JSCHART). Charts arenot available in the chart selection tool.

Running an AHTML report with more than 30,000 records may cause the mobile Safari®

browser to close on the Apple iPad® tablet. To handle a large set of data when using Safarion iPad, turn on the active cache feature.

The spectral chart type in Active Technologies for HTML is not supported.

The following are known issues with Mobile Web Apps:

Active Technologies for Mobile Web Apps full-screen web app view is not available indesktop browsers.

The totals in a pivot table may appear misaligned when switching BY and ACROSS columnsin the pivot table while in full-screen web app view on mobile devices.

In full-screen web app view on mobile devices, rollup and pivot tables created from Rollupmenu items are missing. You can view them when you switch the view to the original activereport view.

There is a known issue with Active Technologies charts that use the Flash chart engine forconnected mode (ARGRAPHENGINE=FUSION). They are not supported in Report Library.

iSeries (AS/400) and OpenVMS are fully supported.

WebFOCUS Adapter for GIS

The following are known issues in the WebFOCUS Adapter for GIS:

The WebFOCUS GIS Viewer for Adobe Flex does not support Legends.

The ESRI Configuration Utility is missing the <menuinfo> tag.

The ESRI Configuration Utility is missing configuration for a geoprocessing task.

NIM086597 for ArcGIS Server Version 10.1 (as reported by ESRI): REST-based queries thatinclude the geometry of a polygon using a different spatial reference than the map servicereturn no results unless the input spatial reference (inSR) parameter is used.

WebFOCUS Language

The following are known issues in the WebFOCUS language.

Escape Special Characters in JAVASCRIPT Calls

A single quotation mark ('), double quotation mark ("), or backslash (\) within a JAVASCRIPT callin a hyperlink or drill down is not supported.

URL Attribute in Styling

When using a URL attribute with a TYPE=DATA, ACROSSCOLUMN=field declaration, the URL datavalue of the first ACROSS column is being assigned to all ACROSS columns.

FORMAT PPTX

The following are known issues with FORMAT PPTX:

For SOLID style borders only, BORDER=LIGHT and BORDER=MEDIUM are visually the same. The workaround is to increase the thickness of the medium border so that the differencebetween light and medium borders are visible at run time.

When OBJECT=BOX and BORDER-STYLE=DOUBLE is used with FORMAT PPTX in StyleSheetsyntax, a solid border, instead of a double border, is generated.

RGB Display in PDF and HTML

Colors defined using RGB values display slightly different shades in PDF and HTML. This is dueto a rounding factor when RGB values are converted from whole numbers used by HTML to decimalvalues required by PDF.

PDF Table of Contents

The following is a known issue with PDF Table of Contents (TOC) reports:

If a PDF is created with an option other than the WebFOCUS reporting FORMAT PDF optionand is uploaded to the WebFOCUS Repository, an error will occur when opening the file. Thefile may open, but only Table of Contents information will display.

HTML Reports

The following is a known issue with HTML reports:

Issuing a SET FOCHTMLURL command with a value longer than 80 characters fails with aFOC209 message.

HTML Table of Contents

The following is a known issue with HTML Table of Contents (TOC) reports:

When the size of the LEFTMARGIN is customized, only the first table, which is displayedautomatically when the request is run, respects this margin. When the second or lower valuefor the highest-level sort field is selected from the TOC tree, the default size of the left marginis used.

As a result, when View Entire Report (On/Off) is selected in the TOC tree, two left marginsizes are displayed and a separation of the report into two parts occurs. The first table showsthe left margin specified, while all other tables adhere to the default left margin size.

Accordion By Row Reports

The following is a known issue with Accordion By Row reports:

In Internet Explorer 10, Chrome 28.0.1500.95 m, and Safari 5.1.7, an Accordion By Rowreport shows empty grids, nested to the left of the plus signs (+) and minus signs (-), afterthe highest level sort field value has been expanded. This does not occur in earlier releasesof Internet Explorer or Firefox.

XLSX FORMAT

The following are known issues with XLSX FORMAT:

When a field that is not a Smart Date is embedded in a page heading, which is aligned usingHEADALIGN=BODY, and a Smart Date is defined as the first sort field, the Smart Date isincorrectly displayed in the heading in the report, instead of the embedded field.

When a P16.4 format is used with a -1234567890.1234 value, the resultant XLSX formatoutput file throws an unreadable content error when opening the output file.

When using XLSX, decimal display format supports up to six significant digits following thedecimal point. Support for greater than six significant digits will be available in a future release.

EXL2K FORMAT

The following is a known issue with EXL2K formatted reports:

In EXL2K formatted reports, with headings or footings containing multiple items that areseparated by spot markers without spaces, the spot marker adds an additional space betweenthe items within the text in the cell. The workaround is to use XLSX formatted reports, instead.

EXL2K FORMULA

The following are known issues with EXL2K FORMULA:

The INT function is only supported if the result is returned to a field defined with an Integerdata type.

The phrase ON byfield RECOMPUTE does not recalculate the formula at the sort break, butrather, repeats the formula from the previous row.

SET SUBTOTALS = ABOVE may produce incorrect formulas when used with EXL2K FORMULA.

EXL2K PIVOT

The following is a known issue with EXL2K PIVOT:

NLS characters are not supported in HOLD file names (FORMAT EXL2K PIVOT) when theReporting Server is set to native code pages, for example, Japanese codepage 942. NLScharacters are supported when the Reporting Server is set to 65001 - Unicode (UTF-8).

FORMAT EXL07 and EXL2K

The following issues apply to FORMAT EXL07:

FORMAT EXL07 and FORMAT XLSX are synonyms and can be used interchangeably. The FILESAVED message will always display XLSX FILE SAVED, regardless of the format specified toidentify that the actual file format generated is the XLSX file structure supported by Excel2007, Excel 2010, and Excel 2013.

As of WebFOCUS Release 8.0 Version 06 and Reporting Server 7.7.05M gen 140, reformattingthat is applied to virtual fields with dynamic or field-based formats is available for XLSX format, with the exception of packed decimal formats.

Compound Layout Reports

The following issue applies to compound layout reports using document composer syntax:

Prior to WebFOCUS Server Release 7.7 Version 05 gen 115, text markup strings containingthe special page variables <ibi-page-number> and <ibi-total-pages> in compound documentsdisplayed embedded spaces between the words and page number values. For example:

MARKUP=ON, TEXT='Page <ibi-page-number/> of <ibi-total-pages/>',$

would display

In WebFOCUS Server Release 7.7 Version 05 gen 115, the space can be removed from thetext object with WRAP=OFF and no embedded styling between the page number variables. Forexample, the following code produces a page number string without the extra spaces:

MARKUP=ON, WRAP=OFF, TEXT='<font face="ARIAL" size=10><i>Page <ibi-page-number/> of <ibi-total-pages/> of Sales Report </i>', $

would display

The extra space will continue to be presented within text objects where WRAP=ON or stylingis embedded in the text string. For example:

WRAP=ON,MARKUP=ON, TEXT='<i>Page</i> <ibi-page-number/> of <ibi-total-pages/>', $

would display

Page1 of 100

WebFOCUS Graphics

The following are known issues in WebFOCUS Graphics:

Tooltips for the last value in an Area graph displays the value for the previous x-axis label.

When defining a custom tooltip, the [R] macro can be used to start a new line. However, ifyour browser is Firefox, the [R] macro adds a vertical bar (|) character instead of a new line,as Firefox ignores the new line.

HTML5 Charts

The following are known issues when using HTML5 graph output:

Streamgraphs do not have a frame, by design.

Applying border color for all series is not reflected in the output. Instead, the bar color changes.

HTML5 charts do not support multiple gauge title positions.

Reverse Series Order is not functional.

Markers in a Scatter Chart cannot be connected.

Axis labels cannot be staggered.

Y-axis labels cannot be rotated.

When running InfoAssist under Firefox, the chart is fitted to the entire window, even when SETAUTOFIT=RESIZE. It should initially respect the HAXIS and VAXIS values and only resize to fitits container if the window is resized.

In HTML5 pie chart output, callout lines for labels are shorter than HTML output.

When defining a custom tooltip, the following macros are not correctly supported: [R], andthe four object macros (ON, OD, OID, OIN).

26 WebFOCUS

For graphs with nested labels, the line separating the nested labels is gray and difficult tosee.

For graphs with nested labels, only the first vertical grid line displays.

Pie frames are not supported. Use background fill instead.

Smart positioning (setPieFeelerTextDisplay(4);) is not supported for pie charts.

HTML5 charts do not support showing axis labels on BOTH right and left axes at the sametime (only LEFT or RIGHT is supported).

Underlining is not supported in HTML5 and AHTML graph output.

The SET CDN command is supported in true HTML5 compatible browsers (Internet Explorer10, Chrome, Safari, Firefox) but is not supported in Flex-fallback mode (Internet Explorer 8,Internet Explorer 9 in fallback mode).

WebFOCUS Maintain

The following are known issues when using WebFOCUS Maintain:

When running Maintain applications from the MDE or Developer Studio, the Developer StudioViewer must be used to display the output. This is the default setting in Developer Studio.Changing this setting to use Internet Explorer output with Maintain may result in unexpectedbehavior. For more information on the Developer Studio Viewer, see the Developer StudioApplication Development Getting Started manual.

The Developer Studio Viewer currently has the following known problems:

Delete key does not work. As a workaround, use the Backspace key.

Tab keys do not work to move between controls on a form.

Arrow keys for the JS Grid control do not work. The Tab key is available within this controlto move to the next cell.

Default button in a Maintain procedure is not recognized.

Form titles are not displayed.

Running a form with the JS Grid control in the Developer Studio Viewer will display incorrectinformation in the URL address.

There is currently no Run option for Maintain .mnt and .fcm files from Reporting Servers inthe WebFOCUS BI Portal page. You can invoke a WebFOCUS Maintain application using alaunch form directly from a browser using a URL.

SU for Maintain procedures is not supported when using XFOC data sources.

Running a Maintain application that uses Ibivalidation may fail to work properly when run ina non-Internet Explorer browser.

WebFOCUS Maintain does not support Internet Explorer Version 10 Standards mode.

Update Assist does not open when you invoke it from the Developer Studio QuickLinks menu.

When running a launch form, such as wfmstart.htm, from the Reporting Server on theWebFOCUS BI Portal page, closing the application using an exit button, (for example,Winform_selfClose), will display an xml page. You can add a document referrer statement toyour Maintain procedure, to return to the page of your choice, by using the document.referrercommand in the Top Case of your Maintain procedure. For example:

document.referrer = “/approot/ibisamp/wfmstart.htm”

The option to enable a context menu from the Advanced JavaScript settings no longer existsin Firefox Version 23. The context menu is now enabled by default. You can confirm this bytyping about:config in the address bar, and searching for contextmenu.

If you use Firefox Version 23 or higher to run applications with MNTONLOAD functionality tolimit access to key functions, you will be required to install a browser add-on to view theBlocked Function Key messages in the status bar. You also must enable the status messagein about.config (dom.disable_window_status_change). For more information, see the MozillaFirefox website.

When you place a vertical line control, with a pen width of 1 or more, on a Maintain form, thevertical line control will display thicker when you run the form in Firefox, Chrome, or Safaribrowsers. If you choose to run this form in a non-Internet Explorer browser, you must replacethe line control with a text object, which you then resize, and fill with the color Black.

If Update Assist is invoked from the Maintain Development Environment immediately afterinstalling Developer Studio, errors may occur. Once Developer Studio is restarted, the UpdateAssist tool can be run successfully from Developer Studio or from within the MaintainDevelopment Environment.

Magnify

The following are known issues in Magnify:

A script warning displays in Internet Explorer Version 8 when the record limit is set to 3000or more. Retrieving 3000 or more records, can slow down Internet Explorer. To stop retrievingrecords, click No on the Internet Explorer dialog box.

When using Magnify with Sentiment Analysis, the system where Magnify (WebFOCUS Client)is installed requires Java 1.6 or higher.

The Adapter for REST that is used for Sentiment Analysis with Alchemy is currently limited to2000 characters.

The filemntr.acx Access File that is used as a template when defining a synonym for theAdapter for Flat File is invalid. Version 7 Release 7.06 Server

The following are known issues for the Version 7 Release 7.06 Server:

Disabling the CSRF Token When Connecting From a Release 8.0.x Client

The Version 7 Release 7.06 server supports a CSRF Token. This token is sent with each POSTrequest in order to prevent a Cross-Site Request Forgery attack. If you are using a Release 8.0.xWebFOCUS client that is supported with the 7.7.06/8.1.x server, you need to disable the CSRFtoken in order to successfully connect to the server’s HTTP Listener. You can disable the tokenfrom the server Workspace page.

1. Open the Special Services and Listeners folder.

2. Right-click TCP/HTTP, and select Properties of HTTP from the context menu.

The Listener Configuration page opens.

3. Open the security section of the page, and select zero (0) from the CSRF_TOKEN drop-downlist, as shown in the following image.

4. Click Save and Restart Server.

This adds the attribute CSRF_TOKEN = 0 to the HTTP listener block of the server odin.cfg file.

If you are connecting from a Release 8.1.x or higher client, the CSRF Token should be enabled.
