Image Based Organization If you choose this style, you must have a lot of images, and/or projects to fill out your page adequately. Consider organizing by project or exhibition, and then as you click that image, it expands to a gallery view. There are many creative ways to do this, so it affords you a more exciting website design, but it can also hinder clear communication, and organization of material.

Mobile Life Now that nearly everyone has at least a smartphone or tablet, you must consider how your work is seen on these devices. Apple has pushed hard against Flash coding, because it is a proprietary format for animation/music/video owned and controlled by Adobe. Flash hogs battery life, and uses a lot of processing power to work, thus not working well on mobile platforms. Apple does not support Flash on any of its mobile devices, and has pushed for HTML 5 standards to surpass Flash for animations. The pros of many paid for image gallery editors are the built in seamless HTML 5 functionality. This is also the case with a portfolio host such as Squarespace.com. Keep your image size to a moderate size, and a medium jpeg compression for faster loading (remember that reds tend to show more noise when compressed as a jpeg. Photoshop, and iPhoto offer image export options to create online galleries also, so make sure to check those simple options out.
