The Grande Prairie Public School District Board of Trustees hosted its 47th Annual Board Social on

Nov. 1 at Revolution Place. During the event, 71 GPPSD employees were recognized with Long Service

Awards. In addition, 23 District staff members were presented Exemplary Service Awards and eight

former members of the GPPSD family were honored as recent retirees.

On Oct. 30, members from the Grande Prairie Public School District Board of Trustees and Administration attended the official

opening of the new West Turf Sports Field, located at the Community Knowledge Campus. To mark the occasion, Board Chair

Karen Prokopowich and Vice Chair-woman Paulette Kurylo joined Mayor Bill Given and several other community partners to

cut a ribbon recognizing the completion of another successful community partnership. The new West Field is the first outdoor

synthetic sporting field in Grande Prairie and is situated directly across from Charles Spencer High School.
