Ray Bradbury

• Bradbury was born August 22, 1920. He died June 5, 2012 at the age of 91.

• He is a famous horror, sci-fi, mystery and fantasy writer.

• Best known works are Fahrenheit 451, The Illustrated Man, and Dandelion Wine.

Ray Bradbury• His most chilling stories comment on

the human consequence of progress.• “Science ran too far ahead of us too

quickly,” Bradbury once remarked, “and the people got lost in a mechanical wilderness.”

• Bradbury has lived to see some of his frightening concerns come true.

There Will Come Soft Rains• The short story is an excerpt from a

collection entitled The Martian Chronicles.

• The collection was published in 1950.• Many of the short stories were based

on a futuristic society.• Like many authors, Bradbury was

inspired by the events that took place around him.
