DEVELOPEMENT Model Making

STEP 1 : I began to build my model by cutting out many strips of paper of the same lengths and widths. Each strip is about 15cm long with the width of 1cm.

STEP 2 : Next, I folded the 2 ends of the paper by 1.5cm on each side and then stick them together to create a curve as shown in the photo.

STEP 3: Basically, in this step, I just stick them all together. For those on the top, I don't glue them like step 2. I just folded the trips, and instead of sticking them together, I stick them on the side of the under curves.

STEP4 : Continue to paste all the curves together and I had the final model.

The whole process took me about 1 hour to finish. As we can see the model is curling in the bottom. This could be the result of glue's dry out and make the paper curl.

As for may 2nd model, I still use the same method at the making of model one. But this time, I change it a little. This time, I don't make many same curves anymore. Instead, I make many curves with different scale, thickness and the two sides are mirroring each other. Especially, everything is happening in one big curve.

I decided to put the 1st model on top of the 2nd model. It appear in this really nice shape. I was thinking of layer each frame with different color colorful like a peacock tail. And when the lantern light turns on, it will give the illusion of colors.
